Purpose in Pain | Meant For Good | May 10th, 2026

Some of the deepest wounds we carry are not only about what happened to us, but who hurt us.We live in a broken world, but we also live in broken relationships. Betrayal, disappointment, conflict, and pain can leave marks on our hearts that are hard to move past. And when the pain runs deep, many of us find ourselves asking: Where was God in this? This Sunday, we will conclude our series on the life of Joseph. After years of betrayal, loss, false accusation, and suffering, Joseph finally stands face to face with the very brothers who caused so much of his pain. In that moment, he has a choice: will he allow bitterness to take root, or will he trust that God has been working even here?Joseph’s story reminds us that pain can become a lens. If we are not careful, it can distort the way we see God, others, and ourselves. It can keep us fixed on the offense and unable to move forward. But Genesis 45 invites us to see something different:Where the world wants us to stay paralyzed in pain, God invites us to view our pain through His purpose.Joseph was able to say, “God sent me.” Later, he would say, “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.” That does not mean the pain was not real. It does not mean the wounds did not matter. It means the pain was not pointless. Protected by His Presence | Meant For Good | April 19, 2026

This week, we continue our series on the life of Joseph, looking at Chapter 39 with a message titled, “Protected by His Presence.” Often, we walk through the highs and lows of life and wonder, “Is God really with me?” If He is, why am I experiencing so much turmoil, temptation, and trial? God was with Joseph in a unique way, and it wasn’t shown in the absence of problems, but in the pit and the prison he experienced. He was innocent, and yet his life was full of trouble. You would think God would let up on him. He seems to be doing the right thing over and over, and yet we see him attacked again and again. We will see clearly that living in integrity doesn’t mean you won’t be lied about, and that God’s protection and presence are on those who fear Him and are faithful. Joseph has a high view of sin and is obedient in every way. We have the opportunity to see the beginning, middle, and end of his story, and really the “what” and “why” behind what God is allowing. We don’t get that same opportunity in our own stories. God is often calling us deeper for reasons we cannot yet see. Instead of asking “why” or “what,” we may need to look up and simply ask for strength to be faithful—to fear the Lord and do the next right thing. Our goal this Sunday is to encourage those who are experiencing the pit or the prison: God’s protection and presence are found there, not just once you experience relief.

Too Good To Be True | Easter | April 5th, 2026

We are full of joy to be together this Easter as we celebrate the resurrected Christ! What an incredible opportunity for us to gather together on Saturday and Sunday to talk about the biggest and most significant event in human history. We will be looking at the rest of Luke 24:36–53 with a message titled “Too Good To Be True.” Jesus reveals himself to his followers, and they see him but still “disbelieve for joy.” That doesn’t make a lot of sense. They are truly eyewitnesses of Jesus. Jesus eats some fish to prove he is in bodily form, explains the gospel clearly to them again, and tells them the essentials for their eternity and what they need for the forgiveness of sins. He is really answering the “so what” question about this time of year for all of us. What does this event matter to every person breathing? He is patient, clear, and convincing. They respond with worship and great joy. We will spend time talking about what joy is and what it is not. We will also talk about them seeing his wounds and what that should mean for our earthly scars. Jesus, after coming back from the dead, could have had any conversation with them, but he spends his time on the gospel, making sure we get that right. He gives them a promise and then leaves them. They respond with worship of Him and great joy. The first disciples had great joy. Usually, we have joy when we first follow Jesus, but sadly it fades. Life, suffering, the enemy, and time wear us down and dull the joy and freedom Jesus offers. May we look at Jesus this Easter, have a restored joy, invite people to him, and worship him.
