Ep. 56: The Good Flag, Bad Flag Blues
Every point has a counterpoint, VexHeads! I sat down with Nicholas Signorello this week to chat a little about his favorite shade of blue on flags... but mostly the Good Flag, Bad Flag pamphlet that Ted and I discussed last week. Nicholas has some valid criticisms, some steadfast agreements, and a few takes in-between on the famous pamphlet. Plus, a couple disagreements between the two of us? Tune in and see!

Ep. 55: Good Flagged, Bad Flagged w/ Ted Kaye
We got him, VexHeads! This week, Andy sits down with NAVA Secretary and luminary of the Vexillology world, TED KAYE! Ted has a wealth of knowledge about all things flags, going back to the very start of the field of study. We chat about some flags Ted thinks fly under the radar, what it's like to be on the NAVA Board and how that all changed in 2020, and—of course—a detailed talk on the history and future of Good Flag, Bad Flag.

Ep. 54: The Maine Attraction
We've got our Maine Man Dave Martucci in the studio this week, as we pine for a simpler time. Fir all who don't know, Maine had a fantastic flag from 1901 to 1909, and Dave and other Mainers are looking to dirigo back to those simpler times when you could show your Maine pride in the buff. Also, aside from bad puns, we get into a missing city flag mystery(?) and talk about collecting Flags and Flag Accessories.
Coniferous.

Ep. 53: Distinctly Related w/ Luke Schroer
Could this be a (rede)sign of things to come? I sat down this week with Nebraskan VexHead Luke Schroer, whose interest in redesigning flags goes back to 2021 when the state capital of Lincoln held a contest to redesign their city flag. Luke's design didn't win, but it started him on a journey to eventually redesign flags for all 50 U.S. states and territories, as well as several fantastic upgrades for city flags around the country. His redesigns on every level show how good flags can be both distinct... and related.

Ep. 52: Derry Furls w/ Evan Stewart
The craic's 90 this week as I sit down with Vexhead Evan Stewart (Rowhouse Vexillology Project) to talk all about the peculiar state of flags in Northern Ireland. We go into different sporting associations' (and video games'!) flag choices, different ways of marking territory and how they've evolved, and as always, talk about hydrophobic paint.

Utah Livestream
We held a live roundtable episode today on 3/11, two days after the Newtah Flag became official. It was a blast just like the Minnesota one in December, and I plan on doing more of these! Guests are Michael Green from @FlagsForGood , Tara Stark from the Keystone Flag, Erik Nystul, a Utahn who was instrumental in the change, and Utah Senator Dan McCay, who sponsored the legislation to get the ball rolling.
Thanks to all who participated in any way, shape, or form! Y'all make this show great.
