In fact, a lot of coaches make it mandatory when you work with them, because they believe it gives you something to 'work towards'. It's either used as part of your overall strategy: If you have 30lbs to lose, you aim to lose 1lbs a week, you know you’ve got 30 weeks to lose the weight.
