Each episode we bring you the best music of all genres from throughout the world, and this week we’ll be speaking with Jim Faith - the Founder and Producer of the Great South Bay Music Festival that takes place this year at Shorefront Park in Patchogue NY from July 23rd through July 26th. This years festival features a wide variety of artists including The Used, Sublime, Gov’t. Mule, and My Morning Jacket among many others. Jim Faith has been a fixture of the New York music scene since his days as a musician, but in more recent years he's not only revitalized the arts and culture profile of Long Island through his work with the festival, but also as a cofounder of The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Musical Arts from Five Towns College in 2021, and his work on behalf of several charities has improved the quality of life on Long Island significantly.

His most recent album is "Gardens Old, Flowers New", and he has 2 area performances coming up: On June 20th as part of a celebration of the music of Paul Simon and Bob Dylan at Symphony Space in New York City, and on August 14th he'll be performing at My Father's Place in Roslyn, NY.

Hank is a humanitarian iconoclast who performs folky, bluesy Americana with a fulsome Dylanesque tilt. From solo singer/songwriter to accompaniment with rich harmonies, roundal call and response or with acoustic band, Hank weaves a tapestry of experience with a wide variety of locales and scenarios. Joy and sorrow, remembrance and tomorrow, Hank sets life to music while proving music is life. Wistful memories of the kids growing up or the big tree in grandpa’s yard lie organically with tales of the sea or bouncy Grateful Dead visualizations.
