    EP 594 - Babylon A.D.

    EP 594 - Babylon A.D.

This week we are joined by Babylon A.D. frontman and founding member Derek Davis.
The band has just released the latest studio effort “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day” and Derek is on board to talk about that.
He also delves into the deep dark corners of the band’s history from the late 80’s until today.
Hopefully this will answer lots of questions about the band and why they just seemed to disappear for years.
We get stories about the Bay area, Y&T, Tom Werman, and even some Clive Davis thrown in for good measure.

EP 593 - Not Buyin' it

EP 593 - Not Buyin' it

Everyone has those bands that no matter what, if they put out a new release we’re buying it. AC/DC is a great example of this.
Then there are bands that perhaps it’s time to hop off the fan wagon. Maybe there’s too many members gone or the writing is not the same or the whole musical style has gone somewhere else.
This week Richie arrived with a surprise list of five bands that he used to love and has now opted to stop buying anything new from them.
Four of them I agree with Richie on and one I’m still buying every new release they put out.
We also kick off the week doing a bit of a review on the Black Sabbath “Anno Domini” boxset.
    So lotsa discussion this week.

    EP 592 - Cold Sweat

    EP 592 - Cold Sweat

A bit of discussion as we recap our recent concert adventures. After that we dive in with this weeks guest Marc Ferrari.
Marc is out and about talking about the a long awaited Cold Sweat live release “Unburied Alive”.
Their debut “Break Out” was released back in 1990 and promptly sunk under the changing tides in musical taste.
The release of this new CD has rekindled interest in the band.
Marc will give us the history of the band plus give us some other career insights.
The chat with Marc comes in at around the 45 minutes mark if ya wanna skip our incessant yakking.

    EP 591 - Manic Eden

    EP 591 - Manic Eden

March 12 1994 Manic Eden released their one and only album.
Little Caesar main man Ron Young makes his second appearance on FoM this week to discuss the story of Manic Eden as well as what’s going on with Little Caesar.
And Ron being Ron there is no shortage of tales to tell so strap in for a long and hopefully entertaining episode.
BTW, the actual Manic Eden talk doesn’t start until about 50 minutes in, yep Ron’s a talker.
Did I mention that this one's a long one?

Music Theories/Mascot has also reissued this one last month on CD and a limited run on red vinyl.

EP 590 - Roads To Madness

This week we are joined by author and frequent FoM collaborator Brian J Heaton to discuss his upcoming book “Roads To Madness” The Touring History of Queensryche 1981-1997.
If you may remember Brian was the coauthor of “Building An Empire: The Story of Queensryche”. This new book follows on in further fleshing out the story of the band by detailing their live shows during the classic era of the band.

    EP 589 - Invincible March

    EP 589 - Invincible March

I was going to title this one March Metal Madness, for some reason Invincible March just resonated more with me.
Anyway, this week we discuss some current metal topics.
Obviously the latest metal masterpiece from Priest for one along with some Bruce Dickinson, Slayer, Skid Row, “The Other Voice of Ratt” and a potential shakeup at Frontiers.

Great guests One of my favorite

One of my favorite podcasts and I listen to and subscribe to many.
This podcast and the Rock and Roll Geek Show are the two best out there.

Just a great show

The show is always great, Richie and Scott are top notch, very few shows can touch them.

The love for old and new music shines through.

Focus on Metal is my favorite music podcast. I love the in depth coverage of old and new bands, including producers, engineers, and anyone related you happen to unearth. I will admit that I jump all over your interviews with artists I grew up with, but I'm following a lot of new bands I found through your podcast, and I've noticed they make their way into my morning commute more and more. Thanks for your hard and excellent work.
