Folklore Forensics
You've heard the story. Now hear the case. Every myth persists for a reason. Some myths teach us. Some connect us. And some warn us of something dark — a real pattern of exploitation, a crime that history encoded in metaphor, a truth too disturbing to pass down any other way. And while the stories and myths might seem fantastical, they are almost always grounded in real people, real events, and real crimes, with victims, accomplices, and perpetrators. And while history might have forgotten the details of these misdeeds, Folklore Forensics reopens these cases: mythology and legend from around the world, investigated as if they were real crimes. We reconstruct the timelines, examine the evidence, ask the questions no one thought to ask, and trace it all back to the echos and stories that persist today. What details were exaggerated? What facts were lost to time? And what does it say about us that these stories survived at all? New cases every week. Hosted and written by Danielle Christmas.
