“The Keys to Healthy Aging: How Everyone Can Live A Long Life.” - Part 2

    Full Episode Description:

When you’re asked your age, how does that make you feel?  Do you feel older than your stated age number, or younger?  Aging well is healthy aging, whereby you approach the advancing years with vitality and joy, and in good spirits, with faculties intact and in holistic wellness.  Is all that even possible?  And if so, is it expensive to be on that path?

What is a biological age test?  Have you ever had one?  Simply, it involves taking a sample of your DNA, typically through a cheek swab, to identify how your body has ages on a cellular level.  The result is based on both your DNA traits as well as epigenetic or lifestyle choices.

Biological tests may not be the most accurate way to test for aging, but they do indicate how much damage has been done to your body’s tissues as they have aged.

There are a number of factors that can affect how you  age.  These are categorized as intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors.
Intrinsic factors include those that cannot be changed or modified, such as genetics, damage to your DNA, and the structure of your skin’s components, collagen and elastin.
Extrinsic aging, on the other hand, can be modified.   These include the environment or pollution, lifestyle choices, sun exposure, smoking, nutrition, hydration, chronic stress, loack of sleep, and others.

Conventional wisdom is such that in order to live a long and healthy life, all of these extrinsic factors must be addressed effectively and consistently.

Chris Mirabile believes that living a long and healthy life doesn’t have to be so arduous or expensive.
He emerged from a serious medical diagnosis with a drive to live a long and healthy life.  He shares how to reduce your biological age without intense commitment or breaking your budget.

He shares how to reduce your biological age without intense commitment or breaking your budget.

Chris is an entrepreneur, Founder, guest speaker, Webby awards honoree, and a problem solver.
Insider.com stated that “After surviving a life-threatening seizure caused by a brain tumor at the age of 16, Mirabile devoted himself to healthy aging, which led him to found Novos, a longevity-supplements company.”

Chris is actually 39 years old; that’s his chronological age.  But, if you were to ask his age, he may probably say that he has a “biological age” of 26.

    How can that be?
He joins me today via Streamyard on the Forever FAB Podcast to discuss aging and how to beat the clock.

“The Roots of Entrepreneurship: Using Problem-Solving as Creativity.” - Part 2

“The Roots of Entrepreneurship: Using Problem-Solving as Creativity.” - Part 2

It isn’t everyone that can manifest an entire product line from trying to solve a personal problem.  Talk about a pivot!

Leona Dondi holds a MS in Social Psychology and was on a PhD path to becoming a professor.  During this time, she was experiencing hair issues such as dry scalp irritation and hair loss.  In problem-solving mode, after she performed a Google search, she found ingredients that helped her solve her hair issues.
But, she did not stop there.  Her relentless pursuit of addressing the problem solidified after a trip to Korea.  There, she recognized the value of integrating culture with self-care, specifically care of the skin and hair.
It was then that she dedicated herself to create her own hair care company, and infuse her Kenyan culture into her own product line.
Having been a user experience researcher at Google and a senior product researcher at Netflix-- and therefore, understanding what the user or consumer wants--  Leona was able to harness her work experience to jump start her entrepreneurial journey.
Today, she is the Founder of Uzima, a hair care line to address the specific needs of those with kinky and curly hair.

She joins me today via Streamyard on the Forever FAB Podcast to discuss the evolution of her Super Power as an entrepreneurial problem-solver.

We love Dr. Shirley!!

Dr. Shirley is the absolute best. She is such an inspiration, and we are thrilled that she created this awesome show :) We especially love the episode with Delia Folk

Great pod but host can improve

In the episode with Erika Bloom, great pod, great questions, but the host was often overbearing and interrupted (not always bad, usually to agree or chime in with the guest, but still got to be too much). I wish she'd know that the power of silence as a host is both beneficial and calming for listeners and guests alike.
