Sit with Your Elders and Listen to their Stories

On December 7, 1941, Roy Sigfred “Swede” Boreen had only minutes aboard the USS Oklahoma before Pearl Harbor became US history. In this season finale, his own recorded voice pulls listeners into those impossible moments: breakfast interrupted by General Quarters, a glimpse through a porthole, watertight doors, rising water, oil on his face, and four words that may have saved his life. But Roy’s testimony is more than a survival account. It is a warning about memory, silence, and what can disappear when no one asks the questions in time.  Host Paul David Stanko follows the thread from family legends and lost recipes to ancient oral traditions, the mentor’s hidden purpose, and the heavy cost of leaving grief sealed away. Then, just when the episode seems to have found its final lesson, an unexpected DNA message opens a door no one is left to explain. No spoilers here — only a voice from the past, a family mystery still unfolding, and one urgent reminder: sit with your elders, ask now, and record what they still know.      Forgiveness Unity Courage & Kindness Podcast   Purchase 42 Stories of Life, the Universe...Everything! HERE   Website: https://pauldavidmusic.net/podcasts   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/forgivenessunitypodcast/   Email: ForgivenessUnityPodcast@gmail.com   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forgivnessunitypodcast/    This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast  IG: @reddrockmusic  www.reddrockmusic.com  Learn more about your ad choices. You Have to Have Faith for This to Work

What if the thing standing between you and the life you want isn't proof — it's your willingness to believe before you see it? In Episode 13 of Forgiveness, Unity, Courage & Kindness host and author Paul David Stanko cracks open the iconic 1985 vampire classic Fright Night and the line that has lived rent-free in his head for forty years: "You have to have faith for this to work on me, Mr. Vincent." From Peter Vincent's crumpled TV-prop cross to Neo meeting the Oracle, Paul David unpacks why we live in a receipts-and-reviews culture that has quietly starved us of real faith — and why our intuition is being pulled back to the front seat in an AI world where you can't even trust the video evidence anymore.  This episode is a candid, funny, and surprisingly practical look at conscious creating, self-fulfilling prophecy, and the science behind expectancy effects — the placebo effect, the Pygmalion effect, and the reticular activating system that quietly decides what you notice all day. Paul David shares personal stories about landing a church choir job at 20 with nothing but faith, buying a Victorian house he had no business affording, and letting go of his rockstar identity so his real gifts could open up — mapping it all back to Chapter 13 of 42 Stories of Life, the Universe, …Everything! If you're wrestling with imposter syndrome, debt, burnout, comparison, or the modern "vampires" that whisper you're powerless, this one is a permission slip to remember you are Source Energy, you are a powerful creator, and the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda

Ever lie awake at 2:30 AM rehearsing every "coulda, shoulda, woulda" from your past? Same. In this episode of Forgiveness, Unity, Courage & Kindness, host and author Paul David Stanko unpacks the quiet weight of regret — and why every cringe moment, missed chance, and public flop was exactly as it needed to be.  From bombing a music recital in front of a packed room (and the stage fright that haunted him for years) to the last conversation he ever had with his soulmate before he died, Paul gets honest about the choices we replay on loop. The takeaway isn't "no regrets" — it's grace. Learn how to be a goldfish (yes, the Ted Lasso thing), stop judging your past self, and understand that if you want a different outcome, you make different choices. Not better ones. Different ones.  This one's for the overthinkers, the perfectionists, and anyone who's ever wanted a redo. Every moment is perfect. Every moment is as it needs to be. Now get up, dust yourself off, and get back on the horse.      Forgiveness Unity Courage & Kindness Podcast   Purchase 42 Stories of Life, the Universe...Everything! HERE   Website: https://pauldavidmusic.net/podcasts   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/forgivenessunitypodcast/   Email: ForgivenessUnityPodcast@gmail.com   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forgivnessunitypodcast/    This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast  IG: @reddrockmusic  www.reddrockmusic.com  Learn more about your ad choices. Don’t Put a Mustache on My Mona Lisa

Ever created something you loved, only to have someone swoop in uninvited to "improve" it? In this episode of Forgiveness, Unity, Courage & Kindness, host Paul David Stanko unpacks the art of creation, criticism, and standing in your creative power. Sparked by a coworker's brilliant line—"He just wants to put a moustache on my Mona Lisa"—Paul explores why it's so much easier (and safer) to judge someone else's work than to make something of our own. From armchair quarterbacks to reality-show judges to the inner saboteur whispering that you're "not good enough," this raw, funny, and heartfelt conversation is about reclaiming your voice as a creator and learning to say "no thank you" to the unsolicited feedback that dims your light.  At its heart, this episode is a spiritual pep talk for creatives, artists, writers, musicians, and anyone learning to protect their creative process from criticism and self-doubt. Paul reminds us that we're each a facet of the human diamond—that your unique perspective, your art, and your way of seeing the world add sparkle to the whole of humanity. You could be the most perfect avocado in the world and some people just won't like guacamole, and that's okay. Your creations aren't meant for everyone; they're meant for you and for those on your wavelength. Tune in for an honest, irreverent take on creative confidence, dealing with haters, silencing the inner critic, and the courage to paint your own damn Mona Lisa—moustache and all.  Forgiveness Unity Courage & Kindness Podcast   Purchase 42 Stories of Life, the Universe...Everything! HERE   Website: https://pauldavidmusic.net/podcasts   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/forgivenessunitypodcast/   Email: ForgivenessUnityPodcast@gmail.com   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forgivnessunitypodcast/    This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast  IG: @reddrockmusic  www.reddrockmusic.com  Learn more about your ad choices. Let the Fear Flow

What if the fear that jolts you awake at 2:30AM isn't your enemy — but energy trying to move through you? This episode is about learning to let fear flow instead of stuffing it down. We start on 50 acres of rural Minnesota, where a childhood game of "Logan's Run" — a sci-fi twist on tag inspired by the 1970s book, movie, and TV series — taught me about the adrenaline rush of fear. That same rush we chased as kids is the one adults still chase in scary movies and paintball. But real, grown-up fear hits differently: the kind tied to losing a job, a home, a relationship, or family, washing over you like white noise and drowning out all reason and peace. And squashing it down only makes it stronger — every time you slam the lid, it comes back with equal and opposite force, like sending your fear to the gym to get buff.  Here's the truth: everything is energy, including thought, including fear — and fear is meant to flow up and out of you, completing its natural lifecycle and returning to Source. I'll walk you through a simple (but not easy) breath-based practice to sit with your fear, let it move through your chest and out over your left shoulder, and finally reclaim your power and clarity. This one's for anyone navigating midlife uncertainty, spiritual seekers, and anyone tired of white-knuckling their anxiety night after night — with nods to Logan's Run, Dune's "fear is the mind-killer," the fight-or-flight response, and the reminder that you are eternal Source Energy, a ghost riding around in a collection of bones covered in meat, driven by a piece of All That Is. Because in the end, it's all going to work out anyway.    Forgiveness Unity Courage & Kindness Podcast  Purchase 42 Stories of Life, the Universe...Everything! HERE  Website: https://pauldavidmusic.net/podcasts   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/forgivenessunitypodcast/   Email: ForgivenessUnityPodcast@gmail.com   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forgivnessunitypodcast/    This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast  IG: @reddrockmusic  www.reddrockmusic.com  Learn more about your ad choices. Do, or Do Not, There Is No Try

Stop "giving it the good ol' college try." This episode is about accountability, beating procrastination, and silencing the imposter syndrome that keeps you playing small.  Host and author Paul David Stanko goes off-script on why we self-sabotage — choosing belonging over growth, blaming "the devil," anxiety, or Mercury in retrograde instead of owning our power. From The Boxcar Children and a Gen X latchkey childhood to Yoda's "do or do not," he connects ancient scapegoat myths (yes, the actual origin in Leviticus), Kabbalistic ideas of brokenness, and the Japanese art of kintsugi — filling our cracks with gold instead of hiding them behind a filter.  Real talk on perfectionism, the 90/10 project "iceberg" that stalls every creative dream, and Tim Urban's life-calendar wake-up call: you have fewer weeks than you think. If you've ever left a project unfinished because "unfinished can never fail," this one's for you.  A raw, funny, no-BS take on faith, free will, creativity, and showing up unfiltered — the stories behind the stories from the book 42 Stories of Life, the Universe, …Everything!      Forgiveness Unity Courage & Kindness Podcast  Purchase 42 Stories of Life, the Universe...Everything! HERE  Website: https://pauldavidmusic.net/podcasts  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/forgivenessunitypodcast/  Email: ForgivenessUnityPodcast@gmail.com   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forgivnessunitypodcast/    This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast  IG: @reddrockmusic  www.reddrockmusic.com  Learn more about your ad choices. I’m Pickin’ Up Good Vibrations

Ever wonder why a stranger's smile is contagious, or why one bad mood can hijack an entire room? It's not magic. It's vibration.  In Chapter 7 of 42 Stories of Life, the Universe…Everything!, host Paul David Stanko unpacks the science and the spirituality of energy, frequency, and vibration — from John Cage's silent masterpiece 4'33" to Masaru Emoto's water crystal experiments to the eerie YouTube clip of 32 metronomes falling into perfect sync. That phenomenon is called entrainment, and once you see it, you can't unsee how it runs your relationships, your moods, and your luck.  This episode connects the dots between source energy, holy ground, the Tarot Magician, and the law of attraction — then hands you practical tools to consciously raise your vibration and change how your day shows up. No wishful thinking. No lying to a universe that's smarter than you are. Just real talk about resonance, intention, and choosing which energies you pick up and which you leave on the nightstand.  Vibrations aren't good or evil. They're just vibes. And vibes gonna vibe.  Warning: F-bombs will be dropped.    Forgiveness Unity Courage & Kindness Podcast   Purchase 42 Stories of Life, the Universe...Everything! HERE   Website: https://pauldavidmusic.net/podcasts   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/forgivenessunitypodcast/   Email: ForgivenessUnityPodcast@gmail.com   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forgivnessunitypodcast/      This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast  IG: @reddrockmusic  www.reddrockmusic.com  Learn more about your ad choices.
