    Contenders struggling

One week after the trade deadline, some top contenders around the league are struggling. The Padres are on a five-game losing streak, the Yankees just snapped a five-game losing streak, and the Braves lost 4 of 5 games to the Mets this weekend.

Can all of these teams get back on track as the season winds down? Do we need to be worried about any of them making the postseason? We break down how each of them will fare as the playoff races begin to heat up.

    Trade Deadline Recap

    Trade Deadline Recap

The baseball world lost a legend this week. Vin Scully, the iconic broadcaster who called 67 seasons of Los Angeles Dodgers baseball, passed away at age 94. We take some time on today's podcast to remember him and everything that he means to this game that we love.

Tuesday was the Trade Deadline, and it was an extremely active one. The Padres are the winners in the Juan Soto sweepstakes, getting him and Josh Bell for six players. The Yankees and Braves were each busy, and plenty of smaller moves happened throughout the league. We break it all down and go through our winners and losers at this year's deadline.

    Soto’s Future and All-Star Game

    Soto’s Future and All-Star Game

Stop us if you've heard this one before: A generational talent playing for the Washington Nationals is likely going to leave the team for a huge contract, but not before they give the fanbase some excitement by winning the Home Run Derby.

Juan Soto is following in Bryce Harper's footsteps, winning this year's Home Run Derby just days after turning down a 15 year, $440 million contract. Should he have taken the deal? You could make an argument either way. But one thing is clear - he likely won't be staying with the Nationals long-term.

We break down everything you need to know about the Soto situation, plus what to expect in tonight's All-Star Game on today's episode.

Best analysis

IMHO, the episodes on Gamblers (Hall of Fame eligibility) and Rule changes are the best and show Matt's passion for the game as well as great analysis and logic.
