I have had the pleasure of hearing Josh Patrick speak in person on multiple occasions. Josh speaks not only to his church community, but to the pressing issues of faith that confront the church today. The combination of honesty, passion, and biblical grounding that Josh possesses is rarely found in other speakers. I always find myself deeply engaged in the preaching at Fourth Avenue. Not because Josh is louder, or more provocative, or flashier than other preachers, but because I see an honest and intelligent man coming face-to-face with the Gospel, who can't help but share the story in a meaningful way with those around him.
These sermons can be shared with family, discussed with friends, or contemplated on one's own. He will not berate his listeners for not measuring up, nor laud them for any perceived righteousness. He simply comes to his listeners as another broken follower of Christ, who wrestles with real issues, who struggles with real questions, but who ultimately leans on a rock solid faith in God, on a thirst for God's word, and on an unquenchable passion for the Holy Spirit.
Josh has a deep love for people, and an even deeper love for God. Don't hesitate to take a moment and listen, just be prepared to grow.
