    What does faith look like in the middle of real life? In this episode of FQF Prayer, Vanessa and Lisa step away from a structured series and have an open, honest conversation about life, faith, parenting, and navigating a new season. With kids heading back to school—and both of us going back to school too—we’re talking about the realities of changing schedules, new responsibilities, and trying to keep God at the center when life gets busy. We share practical and biblical encouragement for parents and discuss what it looks like to live out our faith beyond Sunday morning. Then the conversation gets personal as we each answer one question: What is ONE thing that completely changed the way you saw God and changed your faith walk? Sometimes we can know things about God for years, but then an experience, revelation, or encounter causes us to know Him in an entirely different way. Because real faith isn't only lived in church.     Beneath the Surface | Episode 10: Rooted & Established

    What are your roots really planted in? In Episode 10 of Beneath the Surface, we're talking about what it means to be truly rooted and established in Christ. It's possible to love Jesus while still looking to relationships, approval, success, control, or circumstances for our security. But when those things change, we can find ourselves feeling uprooted. God is inviting us into something deeper. Through Colossians 2:6–7, Ephesians 3:16–19, Jeremiah 17:7–8, and Matthew 7:24–27, we explore what it means to build our identity on Christ, become rooted and established in His love, and develop a foundation that can withstand life's storms. Being rooted in Christ doesn't mean the storm won't come. It means the storm doesn't get to decide whether you remain standing. The same storm came to both houses Jesus described in Matthew 7. One stood and one fell. The difference wasn't the storm—it was the foundation. The storm doesn't create the foundation. The storm reveals it. Relationships may change. Circumstances may change. Seasons may change. People may come and go. But Jesus doesn't change. Stay rooted. Stay established. And above everything else, stay connected to Jesus. 🌱

    What kind of fruit is your life producing? In Episode 7 of Beneath the Surface, we conclude the journey we've been on together—moving from the soil, to the seed, to deep roots, pruning, and bitter roots—discovering that God's ultimate purpose has always been to produce fruit that reflects Christ. Jesus tells us in John 15 that when we remain connected to Him, we will bear much fruit. But what does that look like in our everyday lives? Is the Fruit of the Spirit something we strive to achieve, or is it the natural result of abiding in Jesus?     Sometimes the greatest danger isn't what people can see—it's what's growing beneath the surface. Bitterness doesn't usually begin as bitterness. It often begins with a wound... rejection, betrayal, disappointment, unforgiveness, or pain that was never fully surrendered to God. Hebrews 12:15 warns us to make sure that "no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." God isn't just interested in changing our behavior—He wants to heal our hearts.
