The Language of Sobriety with Sarah Levy, Author of “Drinking Games”

In this episode, I sit down with Sarah Levy, author of “Drinking Games,” to talk about her journey to becoming sober and how drinking played a role in her life up through her twenties. Sarah shares how her relationship with alcohol evolved over time, how hustle culture in New York affected her drinking habits, and why multiple stints of moderation and abstinence didn’t work. She also discusses how her drinking affected her friendships, what happened when she experienced a “final straw” moment, and how she got sober. Finally, Sarah shares advice for people with friends who struggle with alcohol, provides her own recovery toolkit for maintaining sobriety, and discusses how motherhood and sobriety continue to shape her.

“Why is Applying Full Body Sunscreen in Public So Humiliating?” Vacation Recap and Laughs with My Sister, Lucy

In this episode, I sit down with my sister Sarah Louise (aka Lucy) to unpack both of our recent trips, whether I’ve become a grandparent on vacation, and our differences as “beach people” vs. “non-beach people”. We discuss Lucy’s birth name, the humiliation of applying sunscreen in public, and whether you’re a no-pee person or a multiple bathroom trips person on planes. We also debate airplane etiquette, from asking people to switch seats to jumping boarding zones, share the hell of our airport customs experiences, and reminisce on the time Lucy was on the no-fly list.

Friendship Series - Championing Your Fellow Mothers with Mandi and Lindsey

In this episode, I sit down with my two friends and fellow mothers, Mandi and Lindsey, to discuss how we’re all doing in postpartum, how we became friends in the first place, and how we’ve supported each other through pregnancy, breastfeeding, and everything in between. We share why our husbands had to force us to be friends at first, how we are each others’ champions vs. cheerleaders, and how our second postpartum experiences have differed from our firsts – from our bodies, to our work, to our mental health. We also talk about why Lindsey decided to stop breastfeeding and how she went about it, what we love about having two children and what’s been the most challenging, how we’ve been working through the “roommates” phase with our husbands, and so much more.

    Solo: Two Years Without Drinking

    Solo: Two Years Without Drinking

In this solo episode, I celebrate my two year anniversary of being alcohol-free with a deep dive into my decision to stop drinking, my background with alcohol growing up, and where I stand now on this decision that started out as a temporary experiment. I share how I suspected I didn’t enjoy drinking in college and post-college years like other people, how the effects of alcohol changed after my concussion, and why I felt angry and disempowered when I couldn’t drink after my accident. I also talk about how I moved from a disempowered choice to an empowered choice, why being hungover as a parent was a game changer for my decision, and how I have discovered an inner confidence and self-trust I didn’t have before. Finally, I answer listener questions like whether I ever miss drinking, how alcohol affects my mental health versus other substances, how I navigate events with friends and being around people who are drinking, and much more.

Han W Brown ,

This show has positively changed my life.

Cameron is incredible at what she does and brings on guests that are authentic and powerful. I am especially thankful for being able to hear Sarah Levy’s story. I have been exploring my relationship with alcohol for years now, and I needed to hear her story to give me the confidence to get serious and make a change. As I was listening to her story, it felt as if I was out of my body hearing my own story. Scary similar. I appreciate you so much, Cameron. Thank you for all you do.

Sally Lou Loveman ,

LOVE the Carly King episode!

I loved this episode so much Cam. So many beautiful takeaways for living through grief. Carly’s story is so powerful. Thank you for bringing her to your audience. And of course her music is the key to her power. I can see Andrew’s smile while he listens.♥️

Lodog45 ,

Self absorbed narcissist with no original ideas

I used to like Cameron and her content. Then I realized what a self absorbed, white privileged, narcissist she is. Her content is recycled or stolen from other creators, she doesn’t seem to have interesting guests anymore (are relatives the only people who accept her invites?). I really wonder how Dear Media is accepting of her just spouting off solo or with her family members about the most mundane day to day things that every parent goes through. 99% of things she builds up as dramatic are things that every single parent goes through and are normal. Not worth a podcast episode or an Instagram post. The hypocrisy of sharing every detail about her children but not saying their names (that she announced and posted???) and not showing their faces is really rich. I know more about her kids sleep schedule than my own. Unsubscribe.
