Fridays With Frank

Frank Thomas Kobe

Hi, my name's Frank! I have always enjoyed talking to people. No matter if they're friends, family, or strangers. So I decided to start this, where I try and talk to a new person every week, no matter what they do. So why don't you stop by and listen in on the conversation?

Fridays With Frank (and James Allen)

https://supportlrc.app/donate/donate_guest.html   (Link to donate to the Lebanese Red Cross)           In this episode, I talk with close friend and apparently resident organic explosives creator, James Allen. He talks about his research in the field of inorganic chemistry, and all that it entails. After some explanation of his research, we also delved into this weeks topic of choice from the guest, the recent explosion in Beirut. As always for the topic this is our opinions/speculations on our part, I did not do any research beforehand regarding this topic, unless it was while recording to try to have a better understanding. Clarifications/Further Discussions  - As discussed in the episode, some parts of chemistry can only be simplified so much before it is no longer accurate, but I also wanted to note that while this is an issue in chemistry teaching that people are aware of, it does not hinder or cause the classes/degree track to become harder than it would be otherwise, so do not let this anecdotal portion change your opinion if you feel like going for anything chemistry related.  - While we did agree that there was some media coverage by major outlets, it only passed general searches on Google compared to the topic of masks in general (even when taking into account people possibly searching just Beirut as the capital) at some point in time likely around the time the event occurred or soon after (This was not the case worldwide, only in the United States).
