Welcome to Friendly Fire, the war movie podcast that - if it accomplished nothing else - made you watch Come and See. I’m show producer Rob Schulte…here to announce that this is the end of the line for Friendly Fire. We’ve seen a lot of great movies together, and we’ve also seen USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage. But no matter what war movie we talked about, all of us who work on the show are going to miss these conversations, and we’d like to take this moment to express our gratitude to everyone who listened, supported the show, bought merchandise, and came to see the show live. This was (and still is) my favorite podcast that’s ever existed. I’m so sad that it’s over, and I wish desperately that it could return. I miss it like a dead comrade, and I still mourn its absence to this day. A truly great show, and the best film studies class I’ve ever taken. The guys were the perfect mixture, a hell of a combination. Love forever.

Friendly Fire is of the most intelligent and hilarious takes on history and foreign policy seen through the lens of war movies. It’s such a shame that this podcast was retired prematurely — the show provides valuable lessons about camaraderie, sticking with your crew when times get tough, and quite simply, being a good and loyal friend. My very favorite episode is the one in which the crew discusses the integrity of the Adam and Ben characters turning tail and running at the very first salvo. The crew’s conversation about the shocking display of cowardice displayed is profound, and is as applicable a battalion of soldiers as it is to everyday friendships. Highly recommend!
