I have listened to several seasons of Revisionist History, but season 14 absolutely wrecked me. The way this was handled by the state of Alabama is flabbergasting, but the way Malcolm and others approach this story with so much consideration and empathy blew me away. I will think about penalty cases completely different from this point forward.

I don’t truly know how to feel about the death penalty- I grew up learning it was just punishment for deviant crimes. I grew to find it wrong but prison has become a profitable business which is pretty problematic. That said, this case was possibly the worst example of someone being executed for murder. There are hundreds of violent criminals who destroyed lives and their victim’s deserve justice. How kind and respectful are murderers? This series had an interesting premise but poor execution- just emotional manipulation.
