Delta Force Operator and CIA Officer | Gary Harrington (throwback episode)

original airdate - 3/13/23 I spent most of my career working in the shadows. While some of my service was spent with large groups, such as the 32nd Marine Amphibious Unit, serving in Beirut in 1982, I spent most of my career working on small teams or alone. We often lived and worked with foreign military units like a Kuwaiti tank unit in the northern desert in 1996. In 1998, I worked alone in Yemen. Trouble spots on my own became my specialty. After 9/11, I launched to Uzbekistan in the vanguard for 5th Special Forces Group and served on several teams in Afghanistan during 2001 and 2002, participating in major combat operations alongside Afghan indigenous forces. Often, my mission was to enter a country to determine if other special operations forces could safely follow and operate. If so, I would develop the situation and make ready for them to arrive. In 2002, after departing Afghanistan, I moved to a mid-Eastern location to prepare the way for the next conflict. Working independently and conducting successful, often classified missions on several continents taught me the power of prudence…and the skills that must accompany it. I’ve been listening since the beginning. This is one of the podcasts out there besides all of the ads. They’re abrupt and significantly louder than the rest of the show. They’re also a lot more frequent than they used to be.

I came for the stories, I left because of the unnecessary and frankly awful political takes. Most recently, Tim Weiner was good until he started spouting absolute dogsh*t such as America might not have a 250th anniversary because of the Trump administration… And his argument that an initial LOW-CONFIDENCE assessment that was leaked for political purposes to suggest our B-2 strikes on Iran were botched was nauseating… and the hosts just sat quietly like sheep. I could go on, but Good Riddance!
Dee Needs to Go

I’m a long time fan of the show, specifically Dave’s and Jack’s classic guest interview format. However, the channel is now flooded with eyes on episodes with Dee injecting his political bias and views. There was a time he used to at least try to hide it but less and less as time goes on. I am not the only one who is disappointed because the Team House built its brand on military- focused, apolitical content which the channel has strayed from because of Eyes On. You will lose listeners if this continues. Dee has no business co-hosting a geopolitical- security focused podcast. Recognize friendship and all, but make the right business decision and have Dee focus on production. For example, “I don’t like that guy, not because he’s Republican but because…” - Dee. The need to clarify thar Dee had other reasons for not liking someone says it all. Other than that- drive on J and D.
Not what it used to be

I’ve listened to this podcast from the beginning. For years, I really enjoyed it. Every episode was an interview with a really interesting figure from a military, intelligence, or leo background. It has slowly morphed into a more political show with political opinions. I get enough politics from the rest of the media, and I’m tired of hearing it. I just want to hear people’s stories, not the hosts’ political opinions. Also, when they added the Eyes On episodes, I felt like the quality of the interviews and discussion declined. Overall I still enjoy the show, but it’s not what it used to be.
