Full Surrender with Mel Chancey

Mel Chancey

The Full Surrender podcast is about what happens when you stop running, stop fighting for control, and fully surrender your life to God. Hosted by Mel Chancey, whose own journey has taken him from altar boy to Hells Angels president, through years of incarceration, and ultimately to a life transformed by Christ, this podcast is built on one belief: your past does not have to determine your purpose. Each episode dives into real stories of faith, redemption, struggle, discipline, family, and transformation. Mel sits down with people from all walks of life to have raw conversations about the moments that tested them, changed them, and ultimately brought them closer to God. This is not about pretending to have everything figured out. It is about what becomes possible when you finally give everything to Christ. The past. The pain. The pride. The fear. The need for control. Everything. Because sometimes the greatest transformation begins with The Full Surrender.

AJ Buckley: Success, Loss & Finding Faith | Full Episode

Today we sit down with actor, entrepreneur, husband, and father AJ Buckley for an honest conversation about perseverance, family, loss, Hollywood, faith, and finding your way back to God.   AJ is best known for his roles in SEAL Team, CSI: NY, Justified, and more, but his journey to success looked very different behind the scenes. Born in Dublin and raised in Canada, AJ knew from an early age that he wanted to become an actor. That dream eventually took him to Los Angeles, where early success was followed by uncertainty, financial struggles, and a period when he found himself living out of his car and questioning whether it was time to give up.   Everything began to change when AJ stopped trying to portray an image of success and became honest about where he was in life. Soon after, an opportunity on CSI: NY changed the trajectory of his career. But some of AJ’s greatest battles happened away from the camera.   He opens up about losing his father to pancreatic cancer, the final sunrise they shared together, and the anger that led him to walk away from God for nearly 12 years. AJ shares how losing opportunities, becoming a husband and father, moving his family to South Carolina, and eventually accepting an invitation to church began bringing him back to his faith.   That journey ultimately led him into the mountains of North Carolina with a group of men, where four days away from the noise forced him to confront what he had been carrying and rediscover the relationship with God he had lost.   In this episode, we discuss: Living out of his car while chasing his acting dream The opportunity that changed everything with CSI: NY Losing his father and the final sunrise they shared Walking away from God for nearly 12 years Rebuilding his life and landing SEAL Team The journey that brought him back to his faith Learning to forgive himself and let go of the past Faith, fatherhood, discipline, and finding purpose   If you’ve ever felt lost, angry, disconnected from your faith, or like you’ve gone too far to find your way back, this conversation is for you.   Follow the Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@melchancey Follow Mel: https://www.instagram.com/melchancey316/ Follow AJ Buckley: https://www.instagram.com/ajbuckley/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
