Dato’ Dr. Hartini Zainudin (@tinizainudin9) is a prominent activist who has dedicated nearly three decades to the welfare of marginalized children, and set up the Yayasan Chow Kit child-crisis center. She is an activist who co-founded Yayasan Chow Kit formerly known as NurSalam, the first 24-hour/7-day one-stop child-crisis center in the country. The center is dedicated to providing marginalized and displaced children.
She has worked as a consultant and a member of several humanitarian and refugee-based organizations. Dato’ Dr. Hartini has also been involved in law and policy reforms, as well as training on children’s issues. In 2021, she received the award that was widely known among all social changemakers called Tatler’s Influence Award. The award brings together the region’s most innovative changemakers, industry titans and powerful individuals who are shaping the region through positive impact. She is a strong woman who continues to fight in the face of injustice to create opportunities and space for those in need of shelter.

Ian Yee (@ianyee) is a journalist, editor, producer, and co-founder of The Fourth, an investigative and impact journalism team that uses compelling multimedia documentaries and creative public action campaigns to address social injustices. On his journalism, Ian and his team have exposed a wide range of crimes and social injustices, including child sexual exploitation, school violence, as well as human trafficking and wildlife smuggling. Spectacular!
His "Predator in My Phone" initiative resulted in forming the new laws in Malaysia to protect children from sexual grooming, known as the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. Ian is one of three Malaysians acknowledged by the British Council with The Social Impact Award for their outstanding achievements. He received the award, as he also graduated from Liverpool John Moores University, which recognizes alumni who have made an exceptional contribution to creating positive social change. In addition to being nominated for a Peabody award twice, Ian and his team have received numerous other achievements for journalism, social activism, film-making, marketing, and digital innovation. This includes the Asian Media Awards, SOPA Awards, and World Digital Media Awards, making the total nearly 40 awards.
