107: The Worst Year In My Adult Life

We're alive! Your Gamer Friends return to share some updates. Basically, last year was the worst year of our lives. Everything sucks! Not even two Spider-Men could save 2023. But, we're back, and we're going to talk about it all, including a very informal recap of our gaming adventures last year as well as a haphazard yet well deserved crowning of Game of the Year.

If you don't want to hear about our clinical depression, jump to 35:45 to get to the games.

Thank you so much for listening! As always, we really appreciate the support. We're trying to get off of social media, so hang out with us on Discord, or Instagram or support us on Patreon. 106: Rip-Roaring Mad

We're back, this time with another deep-dive into the wild world of D&D drama! This time, your Gamer Friends are joined by friend of the show and D&D correspondent, KetracelBlack, to get caught up on the recent OGL drama between Wizard's of the Coast, pretty much every other tabletop game company, and the TTRPG community at large. From the origins of the OGL and initial skirmishes between players and their corporate overlords to this year's absolute blowup, Jay has you covered.

Oh, and yeah, we're gonna be playing some D&D for the pod. We keep dancing around it but we might as well confirm it for those of you who read the show notes.

A great show about the relationships gaming makes

Love the mix of news, recaps, and funny banter. A great show if you want to hear how gaming can spark some lifelong friendships. Also loved the interview with @yunglevain.

Casual gamer friendly

As someone who plays video games on occasion, but isn’t too deep into the gamer world, I’ve really enjoyed this podcast and find it both hilarious and accessible. The hosts have great insights into all parts of the gaming community, from the superficial to the problematic, and always with a funny spin. Definitely recommend this podcast.
