Okay You Win Interview - Talking 'End of Days' and More!

London heavy rockers Okay You Win will release their long-awaited and much-anticipated debut album, ‘End of Days’ on June 26th via Blues Funeral Recordings (Elder, Acid King, Castle Rat, Lowrider). Drawing heavily on Seattle grunge, California desert rock, 90s alt-rock, and classic British metal, the four-piece have been turning heads since their arrival in 2023. Everywhere they play, people talk, and all their hard work culminated in a sellout slot at DesertFest London 2026. They’re just getting started, and ‘End of Days’ is just the start of the next chapter. Which is something we discuss in this interview with vocalist David Kirk, bassist Rodrigo Barradas and guitarist Ryan O'Hare. We delve into the detail behind the album, the journey to its release, and much more. A Celebration of 'Sorrows' with Agnes and Mary of Cwfen

Released on May 30th, 2025, ‘Sorrows’ (New Heavy Sounds) is the debut album of rising ‘doomgaze’ band, Cwfen (pronounced ‘Coven’). An album that proven to be very successful, something that has resulted in Cwfen touring extensively with Paradise Lost and Faetooth as well as playing Desertfest London 2026 and Download Festival 2026. We loved the album, summing it up as: An album that will haunt your dreams for weeks and months after hearing it, yet you’ll gleefully experience it time and time again. Cwfen have arrived, and no amount of doomy gothic gloom can hide their bright brilliance. Read our full review here: https://www.gbhbl.com/album-review-cwfen-sorrows-new-heavy-sounds/ To celebrate the anniversary of Sorrows, Cwfen have now made two special versions of the album available for the first time. The first is a digital deluxe edition of 'Sorrows', which presents the original track list alongside more than 40 minutes of previously unheard music, including blistering live tracks from their early shows and recent touring, early demos of key songs, and eerie sonic experiments composed during the making of the album. The second new release is a special 3rd edition vinyl repress of Sorrows on neon violet vinyl, limited to 300 copies. This celebration of Sorrows is a key part of our interview with Agnes (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mary Thomas Baker (bass) of Cwfen. We also look back on the past year, the success Cwfen has enjoyed, what the future might hold, and so much more. Witchsorrow Interview - Talking 'The Devil And All His Works' and More!

Eight years on from the release of the highly-acclaimed Hexenhammer album (2018), British doom and metal legends Witchsorrow are back. Entering their twentieth year with even more fire, they will release their fifth offering, ‘The Devil And All His Works’ on July 3rd, 2026, via Church Road Records. From the mighty, organ-infused opener Omnia Finiuntur, to Bacchus’ celebration of sin, the fist-raised chug of Hades Chains (featuring guest roars from Serena Cherry of Svalbard/Noctule) or the epic A Quintessence of Dust (featuring Employed to Serve’s Sammy Urwin shredding a killer lead), fans of this stuff in its most arcane, heavy and occult-edged form will fall under its spell. We spoke to guitarist and vocalist, Nick Ruskell and bassist Emily Ruskell about the new album and the journey to its release. Delving deeply into why it has taken so long, how it evolved over time, what it means to see the new music being embraced so widely, and much more. Interview: Brick by Brick - The Story of 'Every House We Built' with Exploring Birdsong

'Every House We Built' is the debut album from Exploring Birdsong, out 26th June via Long Branch Records. At its core, Every House We Built is an album about relationships, friendships, family ties and romance. Using the metaphor of houses to frame the fragile and evolving nature of these bonds. As an album, it’s not a complex metaphor but it works well as everyone can relate to it in some way or another, and the strength of feeling in the album shines brightly. Brimming with heart and soul, it’s a very special listen and one of my favourites of the year. We spoke with all three members of the band, Lynsey Ward (lead vocals/piano/keyboards), Jonny Knight (bass guitar/synths/keyboards), and Matt Harrison (drums /percussion), about the album and go in depth into the work that has gone into making it a reality, as well as so much more. Including having a ton of fun with our randomised Q&A section aka 'Ozzy Osbone the second'. Changing Places In The Fire Interview: The Dream Finally Realised

Exile-born, Venezuelan prog-rock/post-metal act Changing Places In The Fire will release their self-titled album on the 24th of July 2026 via Wild Thing Records. Formed by five Venezuelan musicians - Daz Medrano (vocals), Alfredo Ovalles (keyboards), Javier Landaeta (guitar), Antonio Silva (guitar), and Miguel Ángel Moliné (drums), all of whom are now scattered across Europe and South America, out of the ashes of the Caracas scene. The band is steeped in the emotional and political realities of migration. The self-titled debut album integrates post-metal, progressive and alternative elements in ten songs that resist genre conventions and channel the melancholy and violence of the present. We spoke with Alfredo and Javier from the band. Talking about the work that has gone into making this album a reality, the ups and downs of the journey, what the future might hold, and so much more.
