    Have you ever read a modern retelling of a classic book, like Pride and Prejudice, and felt it completely missed the point? Today on Geek Devotions, we're talking about why context changes everything, both in our favorite literature and when we study Scripture! In this episode, Celeste shares her honest (and maybe a little brutal) thoughts on the 2013 retelling, Eligible. We dive into why removing a story from its original timeframe can completely change its core message, and discuss the big difference between seeing yourself in a story versus projecting your own prejudices onto it. More importantly, we explore how this exact same "retelling" problem happens when we open our Bibles without looking at the historical context.
