Geek Mentality is the home of "Fans Not Experts Movie Month," "Marchy McFly, "Big Screen Batman," "Sitcom All Ye Faithful", "JAWGUST." and "Silverscreen Superman." Basically I like doing miniseries within this show. You can also check out my other podcasts, "Stranger Danger," "Mandalorian Man," "Reaction Comics," and "Fine Movies. Perfect Strangers: "A Christmas Story" (6 of 25)
Wait, did you think I was going to miss a day? Don't be ridiculous! Of course I'm here talking Christmas sitcoms again! Today I take you back to 1986 for a Christmas celebration with Balki and his cousin Larry. There's laughs! There's tears! There's a terrible snow special effect I forgot to mention on the episode! You can watch this (and every) episode of Perfect Strangers on FreeVee.
The Facts of Life: "The Christmas Show" (5 of 25)
If you take the good, but then take the bad - and then in fact if you take them both? Well hell, then you have the Facts of Life....I used to love this show as a kid, though I never understood how the Drummonds' housekeeper was qualified to be the housemother to an all girls school (nor how that school only had four students after the first season). But who cares!? That's television bay-bay!
The Honeymooners: "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" (4 of 25)
Four days in and we already have another "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" episode title? At least I can say this one came first as we go way back to 1955. Back when my parents were still little kids. Back to watch a truly legendary show - The Honeymooners!
This episode was aired LIVE on Christmas Eve and just like last time you can watch this episode on Youtube!
Silver Spoons: "The Best Christmas Ever" (3 of 25)
Here we are, face to face...or I guess voice to ear? Welcome back to SITCOM ALL YE FAITHFUL everybody where today I watched an episode of Silver Spoons from back in 1982 - decades before we would learn that Ricky Schroeder is out of his mind.
Anyway, this episode has it all! Joey Lawrence! That train we all love! And Santa in a cave! And, as of right now anyway, you can watch it on Youtube!
The Golden Girls: "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" (2 of 25)
Welcome back to day two of "Sitcom All Ye Faithful" - where today I went all the way back to 1986, back when I was just a chubby 10 year old still holding on to his dreams of being a tap dancing doctor (true story). I forgot how much I loved the Golden Girls - just like I forgot what it was like to not know how to tap dance and also not be smart enough to even think about medical school.
But boy oh boy did I get that Communications degree - and look at me now mom....Look at me now...Just kidding she doesn't subscribe to the pod.
The Odd Couple: "Scrooge Gets an Oscar" (1 of 25)
Happy Holidays sitcom lovers and welcome back to another year of "Sitcom All Ye Faithful" - a Christmas Podcast special right here at Geek Mentality. Every day in December through Christmas Day will feature a new podcast covering Christmas/Holiday episode from some of history's favorite sitcoms...And some that maybe only a few people (like me) liked.
I had this who plan to open up this year with another Brady Bunch episode - but can you believe that they only had ONE Christmas episode?
So instead - first up this year we are going to talk about a true classic series - the original (TV original at least) Odd Couple! Going way back to 1970 for this one. So sit back, pour some egg nog, light up the tree and sit by the fire with 17 of your closest friends to enjoy another year of Sitcom All Ye Faithful!
A must listen for Jaws Junkies!
A great way to relive the classic over and over. The host is quite funny.
Perfect podcast for a geek like me!
This podcast is both informative and hilarious! Highly recommended for anyone who considers themselves a geek!
It's fun! Try it!
Make no mistake, this podcast is popcorn. You get EXACTLY what you are promised - fans not experts. Mike just gives you the straight talk on movies he just saw, often walking out of the theater, that's how fresh it is. Sometimes all you want is 10-20 minutes from your bud that just saw a flick telling you whether it was good or not and why to help you decide whether to see it. Mike's funny and a straight shooter and a pretty easy grader if we're being honest. Know what you're getting and enjoy the ride home from the theater with Mike. Oh, and he has one of the best podcast theme songs around :D
