I am an avid Battlestar Galactica fan, and when it was on the air I scoured the Internet for podcasts about the show I loved. I listened to them all. However, by the last season I had stopped listening to all of them, except one: the Galactica Quorum ("GQ"), which in the time that I listened to it won several awards. When BSG finally ended, the crew behind GQ decided to tackle a larger subject base - and I am so thankful.
And what made GQ great, is also what makes the Geek Quorum great. Not only are the people great, but the producer behind the show is just that: a *producer*. Where most podcasters just record themselves talking, upload an MP3 and call it a day, Brian painstakingly edits each podcast to showcase only the best of what was said, to eliminate dead air, elevate the quality of the recording itself and more. Brian is also a great host and moderator keeping conversation and topics interesting and engaging.
It is this attention to detail that I believe led just about every major cast member of BSG (including Edward James Almos, Michael Hogan and many more) to let themselves be interviewed Brian, a distinction not shared by many fan podcasts. They agreed to be interviewed because Brian is not just a fan, but a professional. And now Brian and team is bring this production quality to a new podcast with even more limitless potential because it seeks to look beyond BSG to all things Geek - a subject near and dear to my heart.
This is why I like the Geek Quorum and why I anxiously await each new episode.
