    Blockbusters: Halloween

A six-year-old maniac murders his sister on Halloween, then does a fifteen-year stint in a mental hospital under what appears to be the subpar psychiatric care of Dr. Loomis. We ask the number one question of the 1970s and 80s, “Where the hell are these parents?” and discover how risky an endeavor babysitting was if you wanted to live past your teens. There are some unsolicited opinions from Gen Z’ers and we even encounter an old pal from Walnut Grove. Little House on the Prairie S3 Ep01 The Collection

Little House on the Prairie S3 Ep01 The Collection

Rev Alden shows up unconscious and smokey on the floor of his runaway wagon and is rescued by Johnny Cash. Welcome to season three people. This episode has all the makings of a classic Johnny Cash song as an entire town we never heard of gets demolished by fire, the kind folks of Walnut Grove get swindled by a rock icon, Mary gets into a stranger’s car (no candy needed), and June Carter Cash wrestles the death angel for Rev Alden. The only body count ends up being Mine, Alicia’s poorly named dog after he was “bad sick.” Show Notes: Follow Gen X, This is Why on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/genxthisiswhy/ Join our Facebook Group, The Me-Me B’s for extra content, giveaways, and some fun Gen X introspection: https://www.facebook.com/groups/genxthisiswhy/ And find us on Instagram at: @genxthisiswhy You can find Amye at @amyearcher You can find Jennie, but good luck with that.

Little House on the Prairie S2 Ep21 Going Home

Little House on the Prairie S2 Ep21 Going Home

The chickens and cows have a very dramatic episode as a tornado we never got to see- and turns out was caused by a holy clerical error-threatens life on the Ingalls’ farm. We again struggle with basic concepts of farming. Mrs and Mrs Claus try to buy the farm (but only figuratively) as everyone is puppeted by Hansen. Michael Landon goes all Werner Herzog but in a bad way. Darn. Fool. Cow. Blockbusters: Nightmare on Elm Street

    Blockbusters: Nightmare on Elm Street

Jennie is crankier than usual since she is forced to watch this sad excuse for a horror movie (because of some shady Facebook poll) when she could have been watching Cobra Kai. Amye tries to defend the concept of a maniac stalking your dreams, as we struggle to piece together this trainwreck of a narrative. Poor Johnny Depp who is having an equally difficult time with the script, dials it in while he waits to get murdered. Basically, this movie was TERRIBLE. You’re welcome. Little House on the Prairie S2 Ep20 Soldier's Return

Little House on the Prairie S2 Ep20 Soldier's Return

Good news, despite Amazon’s description, there is no inappropriate relationship between Mary and Granville. Mary is just his best student, because of course she is. Despite Doc Baker’s effort to classify controlled substances and keep them in his office, Mrs Whipple still manages to have a canister full of loose morphine, or maybe Amye has that fact wrong. Jennie hates on oboes and harmonicas, Amye ruins her life by getting a puppy, and we had to call our father to settle an argument. Busy week.
