this podcast is fantastic! its pretty new so im not surprised theres less than 100 reviews. i was getting a bit anxious and fed up with standard true crime/super destructive cult (ex Heavens Gate) podcasts and their general lack of humanity and exploitative nature. this show really fills that hole in my listening schedule with Equally fascinating content that puts the voices of those who have been victims of cults at the very front of the podcast. instead of stories where the final beat is one of defeat or death or murder, its really nice to hear about stories of escape, healing, and resilience.

I was in a cult as a young teen long ago. On our ex-member website many now adult children are coming forward. This is so timely these people are finding their voices and I so much want to help them. Thank you.

I’ve now listened to all the episodes and I thought they were insightful and interesting. I wish there were more.

As someone who grew up in the TM Organization, I can vouch that there’s no exaggeration on the TM Redux episode. In my opinion TM is one of the hardest cults to identify because it has so many practitioners on the periphery who are only mildly exposed to its religious and cult-like nature. There is also widespread celebrity endorsement. At over 40 years old and not having practiced TM in 20 years I’m still trying to parse the effects that the practice and the organization have had on my psyche.

I really appreciate the healing power within each of these stories
