Trauma does not end at growing up. Healing the trauma starts by talking about it. We make ourselves aware, and those who seek the truth, will keep seeking. Once you wake up it is hard to go back to sleep. We will hold your hand as you sleep, as you wake up and everything in between. We are fully committed to ourselves and to other's at the pursuit of happiness, or we will die trying.

    What is behind your trauma door?

    In this episode, Cassy and I discuss the "trauma door" and what it means to "open" the trauma door and begin to unpack everything from our past. We discuss what spiritual tools we use to pry the trauma door open. We also discuss how we grow from opening the trauma door, unpacking things of our past is necessary for spiritual healing. It is painful, but it is worth it.     Looking into the brain: Fight/flight/freeze/fawn

    In this episode, Cassy and I discuss what happens to your brain when you are in fight or flight mode. We review chapter 3 of, "The Body Keeps the Score: Looking into the brain: The Neuroscience Revolution. We discuss The Broca's (speech function) area of the brain shut down when we are in fight, flight, freeze or fawn. In what ways has your trauma made you speechless? Do you feel like you are stuck in fight or flight? Cassy and I discuss how the brain operates when we are triggered and how we can move on from that.     In this podcast episode, Cassy and I discuss parts of chapter 2 from, "The Body Keeps the Score." Our talking points today are: are you addicted to your pain, are your prioritizing your sleep, and have you ever been misdiagnosed. We also discuss some solutions if you are suffering from any of our talking points. You can join our zoom book study. It is every other Tuesday.     The Body Keeps the Score: Chapter 1: ACE Score checklist, numbing, feeling "stuck" in the past, PTSD and losing sense of self

    In this episode Cassy and I cover the ACE score checklist. Cassy goes over each item that gives you a weighted outcome of having an adverse childhood experience. For example, anyone with an ACE score greater than 4 is considered to be ask risk for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual problems. We also discuss chapter 1 of, "The Body Keeps the Score" by Besser Van Der Kolk. In this chapter we discuss losing our sense of self, numbing ourselves with addictions and distractions, feeling "stuck" in the past, and living with cPTSD (complex post traumatic stress disorder) and the other misdiagnosis' we have received in the past. Next week we will be discussing how we are addicted to our trauma.
