Breaking Free from Societal Expectations, Turning 30, and Creating a Life You Truly Love with Jules Wright

What does it actually take to stop living according to everyone else’s timeline and start creating a life that feels true to you? In this first guest episode of Get Out and Live, I’m joined by Jules K. Wright: a life coach, surfer, yoga teacher, digital nomad, and all-around inspiring human who helps women in their late twenties and thirties unravel the pressure of what life “should” look like and reconnect with what they actually want. Jules has spent the last decade breaking away from conventional expectations and building a life around freedom, travel, and purpose  — and helps other women do the same. In this conversation, we talk about everything from the pressures around turning 30, to choosing a non-linear path, to the fear of being seen online, to what surfing can teach us about confidence, resilience, and surrender. We also get into what it looks like figuring out your purpose when you don’t have the answers yet, when you’re trying different things, and when you’re wondering whether you’re behind. Jules shares how to get quiet and tune into you, and what questions to ask to reconnect with yourself and begin uncovering the next steps. If you’ve always felt like there was something more out there for you, like you weren’t meant for the conventional path but you’re not quite sure how to get there and need a bit of inspiration, this episode is here to help. In this episode, we dive deep into: Jules’ story and how she built her business and unique path, step by stepEmbracing a non-traditional path and overcoming societal pressuresNavigating the “turning 30 freakout”Choice Paralysis: Releasing the pressure to have all the answersClimbing "Cringe Mountain": Overcoming the fear of being seen and posting onlineBuilding a coaching business and creating a sense of purpose in your workThe importance of clarity and aligned actionJules’ final advice on how to get out of your own way and live a life you love CONNECT WITH JULES: Instagram - @juleskwright Website - juleskwright.com Sign up to the email list to get the free self-guided workbook, meditations, and journal prompts mentioned in the episode! Finding My Way After Trauma: The Reality of Healing, Feeling Behind, and Creating My Dream Life

In the first ever episode of Get Out and Live, I’m sharing the story behind why this podcast exists and what it has looked like for me to find my way after trauma, depression, PTSD, self-doubt, and years of feeling behind. This episode is about the reality of healing, the shame of not being where you thought you’d be, and the long, nonlinear process of coming back to yourself. I talk about the ways I coped, the moments that changed everything, and what happened when I stopped trying to skip straight to my dream life and started learning how to actually live again. Because healing matters. But there is more beyond healing, too. If you’ve ever felt behind, lost, disconnected from yourself, or like life took you off the path you thought you were on, I hope this episode reminds you that there is nothing wrong with you — and that it’s never too late to start again. Content note: This episode includes discussion of sexual assault, trauma, depression, PTSD, and toxic relationships. Please take care of yourself while listening. In this episode, I talk about: Responding to trauma through overachieving, numbing, and chasing big goalsFeeling behind while struggling with depression and PTSDWhy there is no “right” way to respond to traumaHow I found my way back to myself after years of feeling disconnectedLearning to receive support instead of doing everything aloneBreathwork, parts work, and the tools that helped me through depressionHow last year’s “failed” experiment became the beginning of living againCreating new goals based on alignment and joy rather than external validationBuilding my dream life from a stronger, more grounded foundation FOLLOW MILLY & THE PODCAST: Milly - https://www.instagram.com/emilystuebing/ Podcast - https://www.instagram.com/getoutandlivepodcast/ APPLY TO BE A GUEST: https://forms.gle/9Xa7B3hgCRtKgwNaA Mentioned in the episode: Last year’s dream life experiment (watch on YouTube)
