    Farewell for Now

    After 1.5 incredible years and 70 episodes, we’ve reached a bittersweet moment: this will be our final episode of Get Scrolled. In this farewell installment, we reflect on the journey that has shaped this podcast from day one. We talk about the highs, the lows, the surprises, and the growth we’ve experienced along the way.     For centuries, the story of Noah’s Flood has stirred both faith and frustration. To some, it’s a cornerstone of divine truth; to others, a mythical tale disproved by science.     When Science Meets Scripture: What Really Happened in Noah’s Day?

    For centuries, the story of Noah’s Flood has stirred both faith and frustration. To some, it’s a cornerstone of divine truth; to others, a mythical tale disproved by science. But why does this ancient account provoke such strong reactions? In this episode, we explore the deeper tension between the biblical record and the natural record—and the anxiety that arises when the two seem to conflict. We’ll unpack the question at the heart of this debate: Is the natural record in conflict with the biblical record? Drawing from the Belgic Confession, Psalm 19, and Romans 1, we’ll examine the idea that truth is revealed through two “books”—the Book of Nature and the Book of Scripture—each requiring careful interpretation. Theology interprets the Word; science interprets the world.     The Name Above All Names

    There is much discussion and even confusion surrounding the Hebrew name of God. Most people have heard the name Yahweh. This name is recognized by the majority of Jewish and Christian scholars as God’s personal name revealed in Scripture. Yet, some groups claim alternate forms—Yehovah, Yahveh, Yahuah, and others. While these debates often focuses on pronunciation, in this episode we turn our attention to something far more important: the meaning of the Name itself. Additionally, we will explore how, during the Second Temple period, Judaism stopped speaking this sacred Name aloud. Out of deep reverence and fear of misusing it, only the High Priest was permitted to pronounce it on the Day of Atonement. Others risked punishment if they used it carelessly or in blasphemy. Join us as we move beyond the question of how to say God’s Name and instead focus on what it reveals about His nature.     Gentle Hearts, Bold Words

    Is free speech a God-given right or simply a civil one? In this episode, Pastor Mark and Justin explain the intersections of the First Amendment and biblical truths. While American law defends our freedom to speak—sometimes controversially—Scripture can contradict the First Amendment which is often a surprise to many Christians. From Genesis to Acts, they investigate how being made in God's image includes the gift of reason and the ability to communicate. They examine powerful moments in the book of Acts where the apostles boldly proclaim truth in defiance of religious authorities, modeling what it means to obey God rather than men. They also look at the Bible’s moral framework for how we use our words—whether in truth-telling, honoring leaders, speaking up for the oppressed, or avoiding slander and destructive speech.     You Shall Not Murder

    We live in a time when the line between ideas and violence feels alarmingly thin. In September 2025, the country was jolted by the murder of political commentator Charlie Kirk during a campus event at Utah Valley University—an act that sparked national outrage and forced us to confront how we define murder, justice, and the sanctity of human life. Against this backdrop, this episode invites you to step back and ask: what is murder? Is every killing equivalent to murder? And who gets to decide? In this episode, we examine the biblical commandment “You shall not murder” and how it was applied in ancient Israel, where murder was met with the severest penalties. Through stories like Cain and Abel, we see how deeply personal and spiritual the issue of murder really is. And in the New Testament, Jesus moves the conversation from the courtroom to the heart, declaring that even hatred or contempt toward another person is spiritually equivalent to murder. It’s a radical standard—one that challenges not just actions, but our inner lives and motivations. Ultimately, we wrestle with how these ancient teachings speak directly into the violence, division, and moral confusion of our world today. In an age when disagreement can quickly spiral into dehumanization, and anger often masquerades as justice, the Bible calls us to something higher: a deep reverence for human life, accountability for evil, and a warning against allowing bitterness to take root.
