Get Tolbert Talking is a new podcast focusing on the students, staff, and community of John W. Tolbert, Jr. Elementary School in Leesburg, VA. Moderated by assistant principal Nick Zapadka (and others, we're sure!), the aim of the podcast is to shine a light on the innovative 21st-century teaching and learning taking place within our school walls. We're sure to have some fun while we try to figure out how to Podcast and learn some interesting things about our community. We look forward to your feedback and suggestions for discussion topics!

    We're bringing in 2019 with one of our favorite topics - Personalized Learning! Join us to learn about how new approaches to teaching and learning are transforming Tolbert classrooms and elevating student engagement. Along the way, we'll be chatting with two teachers and two students who describe their personalized learning journey, and giving some insight into the behind-the-scenes professional development in which our teachers are engaged this year. As is tradition, we'll be putting everyone on the spot to answer some funny questions. Hope you join us!

    Our very first episode! Join us while we tell you about our great school and new audio program, and learn some fun and interesting things while chatting with our four new teachers. Would Mr. Finnerty give up all of his bank account, or all of the pictures he's ever taken? Which Tolbert teacher inspired Mrs. Blood to join our staff? Did you hear about when Mrs. Gillenwater chased a bear? What about that celebrity that Ms. Reynolds went to high school with - (hint, her name rhymes with Kaylor Shift).
