    Film: Saltburn(2023) featuring Jessica Englett

    Hey Listeners!!!! Long time no see. I'm so sorry this is my first episode of 2024- once again life became a bit overwhelming and I had to take a break. I've missed you! This episode I am very excited about! Saltburn was easily the most talked about movie before the end of 2023 and I KNEW I had to discuss it on the podcast. Not only did I LOVE it, but I found someone to discuss it with me who loved it equally. My longtime friend, Jessica Englett, from my high school and college years joined me to discuss this pop culture phenomenon film! Saltburn is about a student at Oxford University who finds himself drawn into the world of a charming and aristocratic classmate who invites him to his eccentric family's sprawling estate for a summer never to be forgotten. Directed by the insanely talented Emerald Fennell. Starring Barry Keogan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Archie Madekwe, and Alison Oliver. This film will take your mind, body, and soul on a wild ride. Also, it'll make you gasp and say "WTF" multiple times, but hey- thats cinema baby!     Film: Scream(1996) featuring Claire White from Why the Flick? Podcast

    Happy Spooky Season!!! My favorite time of the year! This year I decided to feature one of my all time favorite films, Scream. I literally watch this film every 3 months, sometimes more often, and it holds a very special place in my heart. Imdb plot reads: A year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a masked killer who targets her and her friends by using scary movies as part of a deadly game. Starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, and Drew Barrymore. Directed by Wes Craven- I feel this film redefined the horror genre. The slasher style, and nods to former horror films makes the commentary so fun and spooky. It also begs the question, "What's your favorite scary movie?". I'm joined by my good friend Claire White from Why the Flick? podcast. She is so much fun to talk to and very knowledgable about films.     Film: Arrival(2016) featuring DJ Buckhanan from 3rd Eye Movie Reviews

    This episode of Get Your Binge on is all about the 2016 film, Arrival. Featuring a good friend of mine who is the movie review king, DJ Buckhanan. He has an Instagram, Letterboxd, and Youtube channel all dedicated to his love of movies called 3rd Eye Movie Reviews. He watched Arrival just this year and couldn't stop talking about it, which brought up my love for the film! I knew I had to feature this special movie on the podcast. Arrival is about a linguist who works with the military to communicate with alien lifeforms after twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world. Cast include: Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker, and Michael Stuhlbarg. This film will take everything you thought you knew and flip it upside down and cause a snowball effect of emotions leaving you crying and speechless. Directed by Denis Villeneuve.     I'm back with another episode and this week I'm featuring a show that has captured my heart and soul - then proceeded to make it explode! I'm still beaming from the joy this show brought to me. Adapted from the book of the same title by Taylor Jenkins Reid, this show follows the rise of rofck band Daisy Jones and The Six through the 1970s Los Angeles music scene on their quest for worldwide Icon status. Inspired by the real life tumultuous journey of legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac, specificially members Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham. Starring Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse, Sebastian Chacon, Nabiyah Be, Tom Wright and Timothy Olyphant. This cast is stellar, and the band is talented. Not only that, within the first 24 hours the album of the fictional band "Aurora" topped the music charts including Billboard's Emerging Artists chart - which makes them the first act to be No. 1 on this chart whose formation stems from a scripted series.     Film: Little Fish(2020)

    This week I wanted to bring you another film that recently changed my life. No exaggeration. Lately it feels like five star films are hard to come by. When I turned on this film called Little Fish starring Olivia Cooke and Jack O'Connell I really didn't know what to expect. It blew me away, and left me in tears. Then, I was left thinking about it for several days afterwards. That's when you know a film made an impact on you! This film follows Emma and Jude as they fight to hold their relationship together as a memory loss virus spreads and threatens to erase the history of their love and courtship. You can find this film on Hulu currently.     Film: Good Luck to You, Leo Grande(2022)

    Welcome back to Get Your Binge On! After taking a much needed mental health break and after soaking up a month of family time- I'm back with a brand new episode. Not only that, but I've refreshed the Get Your Binge On podcast brand and I'm eager to hear your thoughts on it. The first part of the episode I go into how 2023 will bring a new flavor of the podcast, and then I'm bringing you a feature episode on the film Good Luck to You, Leo Grande. This film follows Nancy Stokes, a retired school teacher, who is yearning for some adventure, and some sex. She has a plan, which involves hiring a young sex worker named Leo Grande. This 2022 film has been flying under the radar, and I discovered it through Emma Thompson's(who plays Nancy) many interviews surrounding her role and the taboo culture around female pleasure. This film also stars Daryl McCormack who is extremely talented, and quite a looker too! I hope you enjoy this episode and learning all about the movie that warmed my heart and soul and really opens up the discussion around sex and the human need for pleasure.
