    We Are Prone to Wander P2

    James reminded us in Chapter 2, and throughout this letter, that true faith involves action: we are to 'put feet to our faith'. James concludes his letter with an exhortation to fellow Christ-followers to go after those who have wandered from the truth. Believers are to look out for each other and encourage one another to remain steadfast in their commitment to Christ and obedience to God. If we see someone getting tangled up in sin, we ought to consider ways to love and lead that person to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. The true believer will then be restored and reconciled to Christ who forgives a multitude of sins.

    The bible warns us that the Christian walk is never going to be easy and trials are a guarantee. When we encounter the storms of life, James cautions us to be prepared by seeking the wisdom from above that will give us the ability to persevere and weather the storm, knowing that God uses the difficulties in life to sanctify us, produce character within us and increase our faith and steadfastness. The challenges will undoubtedly come, bringing suffering and pain. But take heart: God's word provides the wisdom and encouragement to endure suffering with the faith that the Lord uses all things for our good and his glory.

    Incarnation: Incomprehensible Humility P2

    When we celebrate the birth of Christ, do we seriously consider the mind-blowing reality that our omniscient, perfect God selflessly humbled himself and came to earth as a baby? In this incarnation, God did not forsake his divine nature or diminish his deity but instead he added to it, humanity. Christ's submission to the Father, all part of his great plan to redeem and to save. What an amazing gift, what an awesome God!

    Wisdom Warnings for the Wealthy P2

    Wealth is not sinful in and of itself. God blessed many of his faithful servants (consider Solomon) with a gift of wealth. But with this comes the added responsibility to steward wisely & generously. We can use wealth for kingdom purposes or for selfish purposes. The desire for money and possessions can soon turn into worship and idolatry, resulting in sin and a separation from God, In today's message, we examine the wisdom and warning concerning the love of wealth in chapter five of James' letter.
