Ghoul Interrupted

ghoulinterruptedpodcast

Ghoul Interrupted is my quiet, candlelit space to explore the stories that have always pulled me in - true crime, unsolved mysteries, hauntings, and the strange creatures whispered about in the dark. Each week, I sit down with a case or legend that deserves to be told with care, curiosity, and a little cinematic atmosphere. I take a slow, thoughtful approach to storytelling. No sensationalism. No rushing. Just a deep dive into the human side of the story… the victims, the psychology, the history, and the cultural shadows surrounding each case. Some episodes follow real crimes that reveal cracks in our systems. Some trace the footprints of folklore and cryptids across old maps. Others wander through the eerie space between the living and the dead. If you’re drawn to the quiet side of the strange and macabre, the kind of stories you ponder long after the episode ends… you’ll feel at home here.

Robert Hansen - The Butcher Baker of Alaska

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, women began disappearing in and around Anchorage, Alaska. Their absences were often explained away, their reports discounted, and their stories left unfinished. During that same period, a man who appeared quiet and unremarkable continued living his everyday life — running a bakery, raising a family, and blending seamlessly into the community around him. In this episode of Ghoul Interrupted, we take a careful, victim-first look at the case of Robert Hansen, often referred to as The Butcher Baker of Alaska. We walk through each confirmed case as its own story, centering the women whose lives were taken and examining the moments where warning signs were missed. We also explore how isolation, familiarity, and institutional failures allowed Hansen to continue unchecked, and how one survivor’s escape finally brought years of silence into the light. This is not a story told for shock or spectacle. It’s a story about listening, about whose voices are believed, and about how violence can exist quietly alongside ordinary life. Listener discretion is advised. If you’d like to support Ghoul Interrupted, the simplest way is just to follow the show wherever you’re listening, or leave a review if you feel up to it. It really does help more than you’d think. You can also share this episode with someone you trust. And if you’d like to connect, I’m over on Instagram and Threads. I genuinely love hearing your thoughts and chatting with you there 🖤👻
