Liberation in your life and Home with Kayla Jackson

Liberation in your life and Home with Kayla Jackson

In Episode 25, I am joined by Kayla Jackson of A Place for Audre.  Kayla  is an ex-social worker turned home stager turned coach! Her journey involved a lot of appreciating social work but missing the emphasis on how important a home looks and feels to help one achieve goals.

This led her to a career in interior design and home staging where all her creative needs were met, but the client engagement was not there in ways that truly fulfilled her. So, she decided to combine both of her passions for interior design and social work into a business.

A Place for Audre provides coaching to curate your home and life. Kayla helps her clients get back to their knowing, and have more ease in their home and life without feeling guilt.

In this episode we discuss Kayla’s journey to creating her business A Place for Audre, how to find liberation in your life and home, how guilt affects our home life, and how we can achieve self-actualization.

Self-Care: I Quit My Job, The Power of “No”, and More

Self-Care: I Quit My Job, The Power of “No”, and More

In this solo episode, I discuss what I have been up to the last 3 months and how I had to prioritize my self care.  One of the biggest decisions I made during this time to prioritize my health was to quit my last job.  It had been a source of significant stress and I had to get real about how I want to live my life moving forward.  So, I made the decision to choose my health and well-being over my job before the universe made the decision for me.

But, do not fret, I will go over a few ways we can all practice self-care in this episode that do not involve quitting your job, including the power of “no.”

My Autoimmune Journey: Beating Hashimoto's Disease

My Autoimmune Journey: Beating Hashimoto's Disease

In February 2020, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease.  I have learned that the disease is now in remission, so I wanted to share a bit about my journey. I want to encourage you to regularly see your doctor(s) whether you have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease or not.  Early detection is key with this disease as all other diseases.  Pay attention to how you feel and if you are having any symptoms that are out of the norm. The symptom could be something minor, or the sign of some bigger issue. Don’t let anyone dismiss your symptoms as being something you are imagining.
    In this episode I discuss:

    What is an autoimmune disease?
Some of the most common autoimmune diseases.
    What is Hashimoto's Disease?
    Common Symptoms of Hashimoto's Disease.
    Possible causes of Hashimoto's Disease?
    Foods to avoid.
What I did to manage my disease and put it into remission.

    Mentioned in this episode:
The Wahls Protocol: A Radical New Way to Treat All Chronic Autoimmune Conditions Using Paleo Principles by Terri Wahls, MD
Ancient Remedies: Secrets to Healing with Herbs, Essential Oils, CBD, and the Most Powerful Natural Medicine in History by Dr. Josh Axe
The Thyroid Reset Diet: Reverse Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's Symptoms with a Proven Iodine-Balancing Plan by Dr. Alan Christianson

Is Self Sabotage Holding you Back?

Is Self Sabotage Holding you Back?

In this episode, I unpack self sabotage. We may all engage in self sabotage, but may not even realize it. During my own journey to better my mental health, I have come to realize some of the behaviors I have been engaging in are rooted in self sabotage.  The key is to identify the issue and get real with dealing with it.  Self sabotage can occur when we fear failure, success, or we are looking for a way out of a situation. Self awareness and living a life that you desire is key to preventing self sabotage.
    In this episode I discuss:

    What is self sabotage?

    Why do we self sabotage?

What does self sabotage look like?

What causes us to self sabotage?

How can we overcome self sabotage?

Empowerment for Creative Journeys

Great episode with Dara Grimes! The conversation was just that, a conversation. Helps to know that others go through some of the same things. We all have layers, dimensions to us and depending on if we take the leap of faith to explore them, will determine if we want “ a better mind, a better me!” Great job ladies, thank you for the wisdom!
