what are you trying to prove?

there's a scripture that single handidly freed me from focusing on  "the approval" of others' and myself, fr.  the scripture is: "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? or am I trying to please people? If I were trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." - Galatians 1:10 and to this day, reading that scripture still shakes me to my core and gets me right bc, we can so easily teter the fence of honoring God and people pleasing bc have a good heart in trying to hold space and love on ppl, or if we create content - trying to curate and post the perfect video, thread or pictures "dumps".  I can speak to this, bc i too have been guilty of this but if and when i've find myself in the space of operating in this way, this scripture plays in my head and i'm able to reel it in, bc when you're in close proxmity to God - you can tell when you're trippin'. lol. and that's the beauty of being in relation with him and having community that can hold you accountable as you navigate this. reflection: so, what are you trying to prove and to who? and why? when what our focus should be is essentially doing everything onto the Lord, not for selfish-ambition of for the approval of others'.  With Love,  Gei'Yonne. - tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@whoisgeiyonne substack/digital journal: https://whoisgeiyonne.substack.com The Undoing: e-book + guided journal: A Christ-Centered Guide to Unlearning, Healing & Rebuilding Wholeness With God.  - By: Gei'Yonne Caraway - https://payhip.com/b/fdrie thank you for listening and for the support!

stop trying to be God. (for others' & yourself.)

i was reflecting on the idea of how there's a real fine line between hoping for the best possible outcomes for our lives' and others' but how if and when we find it challenging to surrender or trust in God's timing/plans, we're essentially trying to be God in the lives' of others and ourselves.  it's human nature to want to hold space and be in support of others' but it's also important to be able to healthily discern if and when we have reached our human limitation and it's time to surrender a situation over to God to do a work that only he has the ability to do and when it comes to this for ourselves, we have to learn how to better fully trust God, not micromanage or cling on too tightly to how we believe things should turn out, honor what we have the capacity to do and release the rest to God.  reflection: how can you better surrender your will and align your heart with God's, so that you don't feel burdened  by trying to figure it all out for yourself and also teach people how to do the same for themselves?  don't forget to give yourself grace.  until next time.  With Love,  Gei'Yonne. - tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@whoisgeiyonne substack/digital journal: https://whoisgeiyonne.substack.com support me by purchasing: The Undoing: e-book + guided journal: A Christ-Centered Guide to Unlearning, Healing & Rebuilding Wholeness With God.  - By: Gei'Yonne Caraway - https://payhip.com/b/fdrie thank you for listening and for the suppor, it's greatly appreciated! 3.

sometimes it's not the enemy, it's you.

we have to be careful to not overly spirtitualize everything when it comes to when we feel we are being "attacked", bc as i've been on the my journey with God - i've learned that 2 things can true, while yes - the enemy does run rampant and likes to attack God's sons' & daughters' - it's bc he knows we're in relation with him, - the otherside of the token is that sometimes, the enemy could be you - in regards to how you have a tendency to behave or think, (meaning, self-sabotage, negative self-talk, letting creative ideas remain dormant due to fear/overthinking, procrastination, self-sabatoging due to past experiences, beliefs of unworthiness, and unhealed trauma, etc.) there could be a plethora of reasons as to how this idea can be misconstrued to the point where you could always be shifiting blame to the enemy - when in reality, it's you being in your own way - so, I want to encourage you to reflect on the reality of where it is exactly that these behaviors/train of thinking stem from, who's narrative is it, really? who's voice are you listening to? - prayerfully, i'm hoping that you can get to a place in your life where you'll be able to differentiate the voice/narrative that you've been led to believe about life or yourself and God's voice begins to overpower whatever negative/unhealthy narrative that's been playing on repeat in your mind, whether it's yours', someones elses' or the actual enemy bc you must understand that it's all lies and a plot to get you to become stifled and not grow/heal into the woman or man that God has called you to be.  so, if you struggle with this, don't condemn yourself, let God renew your mind, invite him into this process of helping you to differentiate, pray, stand firm in his word, journal and lean on trusted community to help you through this.
