    Single Dad Raises Two Sons On His Own

    More and more single dads are raising their kids alone and the challenges are many. Our guest on this episode navigated the tragedy of betrayal and divorce, a very busy and high-pressure career, with raising his two sons on his own. HIs boys are grown now and the family is successful and close. He tells his story and how he not only held it all together, but flourished as a father and a family. Marty Kinkead was married with two very young sons and was enjoying an incredibly successful career when without warning, his wife was gone. Marty was suddenly a single dad. His boys are now men with careers. One of them has a son, Marty's first grandson that he absolutely loves spending time with. This podcast is about a dad that went through the experience of raising his sons alone, and Marty has a powerful testimony.     Why Homeschooling Is Better For Our Kids

    My wife and I decided a very long time ago that we would homeschool our kids so that we could have the flexibility to travel and do all the things that fit our lifestyle at the time. Three years ago we moved to a small city in Florida, found an incredible church, and settled our family into this community.     Keith Touchberry For Sheriff And This Is Why

    Never in my adult life have I known a time when I trusted elected officials less than I do now. We don't need elected officials. We need leaders. Jesus Christ taught leadership when He washed the feet of his disciples. And when he healed the sick, took care of the needy, and fed the hungry. But most of all, Christ taught leadership when he was tortured and died on the cross for our sins, the ultimate price in service to others. Jesus taught and inspired with His words, but it was his example that changed the world forever more. True leaders are people who selflessly serve others and make decisions based on what is best for those they are responsible for and the greater good rather than their selfish interests. Keith Touchberry, I have discovered, is a leader. He first served his country in the Marine Corps. He then devoted his life to serving the community in law enforcement. He serves his family and his friends, and most importantly to him, he serves God as a devoted Christian. Keith Touchberry's life has been devoted to serving, and to leadership. God has placed the desire in his heart to become the next Sheriff of Indian River County. When we first met a few months ago, I had some tough questions for him. As a former law enforcement officer I wanted to know how he would solve problems, what he thought the problems were, and why, and I wanted to know what it would be like to work for him as a street cop. I have worked for some good leaders, and I have worked for many colossally poor ones. Before Keith was going to earn my vote, I wanted to make sure I would be serving my community by doing my part to elect the right candidate. He took the hard questions well, and I was impressed by his philosophies on law enforcement, problem-solving, and most of all, serving the men and women on the street and in the jail that keep us safe. After more than one lengthy conversation I realized this man had no desire to be just an elected official, he was a true leader who not only had the capability, experience, and knowledge to be an outstanding Sheriff; but he explained that he was here to serve those in his charge and create a culture where the Sheriffs department in turn served the community the same way. When I realized I was listening to him and wishing I was younger and could work under his leadership, I knew I had to get behind his efforts and share what I knew about him. This episode is 1 hour and 7 minutes long and while that time is limited, I think you will come away, like I did, knowing this man well enough to want to support him in his bid for Sheriff.

    Since 2020 life has changed, we have changed, and the Goodlad Unscripted Podcast from back then just isn't a reflection of our world and where I am at any longer. Time for change so this is the newly configured Unscripted Podcast, coming to you from Sunny Florida now instead of Las Vegas, and its taken a twist from what it was.     Making Our Marriage Work With Busy Lives

    We roll out of bed at 5am most days, then return to those cozy sheets around 10pm for a few quick hours before we start it all over again. We do our best to start the day with prayer and some Bible time but I would be lying if I told you that is the routine. We want it to be, but four unpredictable small children along with two energetic dogs have a knack for creating emergencies that interrupt or derail those intentions completely. Then there is homeschooling, cooking and cleaning, playdates, errands, designing fitness wear and other BlessedBodywear.com duties, and countless other family related tasks that Ana manages to get done in a day. If I am not welded to the computer I am off workout outside of the house building a brand new business and tending to my share of the BlessedBodywear.com responsibilities. We do our best to get at least one meal together as a family per day, and I try to shut it down and spend some time with the family each day, but again, I would be lying if I told you I succeed. Busy is a common problem for many people and its a big problem for us. If we are not careful our conversations are only about kids and work. The time we get together as husband and wife often comes at the end of a long and exhausting day when we have little or nothing left in the tank. We talked about it, and we both wanted to do better so we came up with some solutions that worked for us so we wanted to share that in hopes it will help someone else in the same boat. Never give up on love and never let it grow cold. It needs attention, nurturing, and it needs your time.     An Hour With Jimi Tunstall, Former Special Forces Operator

    Jimi is a friend. We attend the same church, we see things the same in many regards, and we have a heart to serve others. I am a former SWAT Cop and Jimi is a former Special Forces Operator. This is our first podcast together and it opened a can of worms that could well turn into a dozen more shows if we took the notion to do that. Maybe we will. He is an interesting man, a bona-fide tough guy but with a huge heart, and he holds nothing back, unless it's classified. Jimi openly talks about how he grew up, his unlikely encounter with an Army recruiter, and his service to our great nation where he spend over 14 of his 20 years of military service outside of the USA.     Daniel Tangi On The Fast Track

    I would like to think that every parent wants the very best for their kids. In the same breath, they want their kids to be strong, in every sense, and to have embraced the wisdom imparted to them during the formative years immersed in good parenting and family support. That’s the storybook hope, at least. The world, however, is teeming with counseling schedules booked solid with parents of bad kids and bad parents of good kids, and every imaginable iteration of each in between. Daniel Tangi is one of those storybook kids. He isn’t perfect, nor are his parents, but the God they worship as a family is, and because of that, God has been the cornerstone for the Tangi family through the best and the very worst of it. And, it’s God that remains to this day as the cornerstone of seventeen-year-old Daniel's life. I watched a football game that Daniel played in last year and saw him run the ball. The kid is fast. Beyond fast. He is the kid that blows past every other red-faced and straining kid effortlessly, like they are standing still. College scouts come to his games, salivating, because signing an athlete like Daniel is their Superbowl of success, and for some, he is why they became scouts. A quiet kid that wants to become a broadcast journalist covering sports, Daniel joins me on the show this week. I think he will be one of those kids that we will all be talking about one day saying, “Remember when Daniel Tangi was a kid, and you did that podcast with him? Look at him now.” At seventeen he is a man completely devoted to God, his principles, his family, and doing the right thing in faith. He is also an incredible all-round athlete with blistering speed, and a plan for what he wants to do when the stage lights go out and he turns his focus to things beyond athletics.
