We are a congregation of believers committed to sharing the message of Christ and guiding others towards faith in Him. As a church, we aim to love those in our community with the same love Christ has given to us. The work of our church is aimed at directing others towards the Savior in the hopes that they will encounter the one true God and be transformed by His gracious love for them. Through all we do, say, and preach, we pray that we will shine the light of Christ to all those we encounter.

    Fruit of the Spirit -Goodness

    Send us Fan Mail  Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV), “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.    Now we use the word “good” synonymously with the words “sound”, “decent,” and “respectable.” - We describe items we purchase as “good,” meaning that it was worth the money spent on it and we use “good” to describe if someone is solid in their character, or how we currently describe our current state of being - When someone asks us if we are “good,” it is not in reference to spiritual fruit; rather, it is a question of how we cope in and among the world. - We do not use the word “good” or “goodness” too often to describe character, much less a fruit of the Spirit.  - But in those instances when we are trying to determine whether their personality is solid and dependable, whether they are honest, and whether they are balanced in their lives – we often use the word “good” to describe that person - This last definition is what the fruit of the Spirit is – “goodness,” but there are a couple of levels to this understanding.  Passive Goodness - There is, or appears to be, two sides to goodness - Let’s call the two sides passive and active - As we discuss passive, let’s remember that passive goodness is relative, meaning it is actively influential - The Lord describes passive goodness when He likened His disciples to the “salt of the earth.” - Matthew 5:13, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” -

    He Got Up.....Early Sunday Morning

    Send us Fan Mail   - Saturday passes but not without Jesus speaking to John in Revelation 1:18, “ I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of [a ]Hades and of Death.”- Why is that important, Jesus is signifying that He has absolute authority and control over death and the realm of the dead- It lets us know that Jesus has conquered death, hell and the grave- Then on Sunday morning, the first day of the week, early in the morning, Jesus rose from the grave- Mark 16: 1-7, “Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”- Him getting up allowed us to have life and that more abundantly- Him getting up saved us for sin, shame, and hell- Him getting up gives us hope for a better tomorrow- Him getting up shows us who are in Him that we are more than conquerors- Him getting up changed my life

    Fruit of the Spirit- Gentleness

    Send us Fan Mail Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness (kindness = NKJV), goodness, faith…” 1 Timothy 3:3, “not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;” Titus 3:2, “to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.” James 3:17, “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.” Gentleness is kindness in the fullest sense of the word.  - God is gentle, and to exhibit gentleness as a fruit of the Spirit is to honestly attempt to be like God

    Long Suffering

    Send us Fan Mail The long-suffering of God has been with us since way before we  were in existence.  - What is long-suffering, first and foremost? - Long-suffering is the patient endurance of hardship, provocation,  or injury without retaliating or giving up hope - Long-suffering in short is God holding back what we deserve - And we deserve a lot, if we be honest with ourselves - We deserve to punished, hated, whooped, and much more 2 Peter 3:9,   The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is  longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish  but that all should come to repentance.”

    Fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace…

    Send us Fan Mail When we discuss peace, we are referring to something that often irritates  many people when they see that you possess it. - But sometimes it’s hard to realize you truly have peace until it becomes  clear that you possess the peace of God. - The peace I am talking about is the peace promised to believer.

    Fruit of the Spirit Joy

    Send us Fan Mail Everybody desires joy…not just happiness…at least I hope the desire is  not only happiness - But I do believe everyone desires joy - Even those individuals who select a path of self-denial that makes joy  almost impossible…still do what they do to obtain joy - One thing that unites all people is the longing for joy.  - It is important to recognize that joy and happiness are not the same  thing.  - While happiness is often based on external circumstances or fleeting  moments, joy is deeper and more enduring.  - My hope is that what we truly seek in life is joy, not merely happiness,  because joy remains even when situations change and get harder - Jesus, Himself, endured the cross, and despised the shame, “For the joy  that was set before Him.” (Hebrews 12:2)

    Love

    Send us Fan Mail Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. You have to have spiritual fruit in order for your gifts to work. It is important to have a practical understanding of the Fruits of the Spirit.  We know that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,  and it is equally true that God is in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself.  In the same way, the Holy Ghost is sometimes viewed as the Spirit of the  Father or the Spirit of the Son, yet remains a distinct person, distinct from  both the Father and the Son.  Therefore, the Fruit of the Spirit is an outcome of the man in Jesus,  encompassing new birth manifested through the Holy Ghost.
