I Don’t Have to Be The Candle Making Queen with Angela Deeds

This week on GRAFIK CONTENT, I’m joined by Angela Deeds, founder of South of Somewhere Designs — a candle brand built on creativity, intention, and the idea that the smallest details can completely change how a space feels. What starts as a conversation about candle-making turns into something much deeper: building something from scratch, trusting your creative instincts, and figuring out how to turn an idea into something real.We talk about:— starting a product-based business from the ground up— the role of creativity in everyday life— building a brand that actually reflects you— and why sometimes the simplest ideas end up being the most meaningfulIt’s thoughtful, grounded, and a reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to be loud — sometimes it shows up in the quiet things we create for ourselves and others. 🔗 Connect with Angela Deeds 🔹 Instagram 🔹 Etsy 🎧 GRAFIK CONTENT 🔸 Website 🔸 YouTube 🔸 Instagram 🔸 TikTok Enjoyed the episode? It Takes Ten Years to Blow Up Overnight with Jamie Unknown

This week on GRAFIK CONTENT, I sit down with UK-based DJ and producer Jamie Unknown — an artist who’s quickly rising through the electronic music scene while staying grounded in something a lot of people lose along the way: authenticity. From training to be a primary school teacher to playing festivals like Creamfields and Glastonbury, Jamie’s journey is anything but linear. We talk about what it means to build a creative career without forcing yourself into a box — embracing different sounds, evolving your identity, and trusting your instincts even when you don’t have it all figured out. We get into: — why not having a defined “sound” can actually be a strength — staying authentic in an industry that often rewards packaging — trusting your gut over outside opinions — and why creative paths are rarely ever linear It’s honest, funny, and a reminder that sometimes the best thing you can do as an artist… is just be yourself and figure it out as you go. 🔗 Connect with Jamie Unknown 🔹 Instagram 🔹 SoundCloud 🔹 LinkTree 🎧 GRAFIK CONTENT 🔸 Website 🔸 YouTube 🔸 Instagram 🔸 TikTok Enjoyed the episode? How to Be Promiscuous With Your Interests with Jason Ooi (McSpiky)

This week on GRAFIK CONTENT, I’m joined by illustrator and creative mind Jason Ooi, also known as McSpiky. What starts as a conversation about illustration quickly turns into something much bigger: curiosity, creativity, and what it means to not put yourself in a box. We talk about being “promiscuous” with your interests — exploring different skills, following what excites you, and giving yourself permission to try things without needing them to turn into something productive. In a world that constantly asks you to specialize, Jason makes a strong case for doing the opposite. We get into: — learning new skills as an adult — following curiosity instead of pressure — balancing creative interests with real life — and why not everything you do needs to become your identity It’s thoughtful, funny, and a reminder that you’re allowed to evolve — as many times as you want. 🔗 Connect with Jason Ooi 🔹 Instagram 🔹 Website 🎧 GRAFIK CONTENT 🔸 Website 🔸 YouTube 🔸 Instagram 🔸 TikTok Enjoyed the episode? I Hope You Have the Day You Deserve with Citrine Cash

This week on GRAFIK CONTENT, I sit down with Citrine Cash — New York–based drag queen, fashion designer, and creative strategist, and certified It-Girl. What starts as a conversation about drag and fashion quickly turns into something deeper: identity, self-expression, and what it really means to take up space in the world. Citrine shares how growing up queer shaped her relationship with creativity, using style as a way to express herself before she had the confidence to use her voice. We talk about: • fashion and drag as self-actualization• building confidence from the outside in• authenticity vs. accessibility in creative work• navigating visibility in a hyper-online world• and why sometimes the most powerful thing you can do… is be fully yourself, even if not everyone gets it It’s honest, funny, a little unhinged (in the best way), and a reminder that your identity isn’t something to water down — it’s something to expand into. 🔗 Connect with Citrine Cash 🔹 TikTok 🔹 Instagram 🔹 Website 🎧 GRAFIK CONTENT 🔸 Website 🔸 YouTube 🔸 Instagram 🔸 TikTok Enjoyed the episode? Searching for Sex, Art & Honesty in the Apocalypse with Davis G. See

This week on GRAFIK CONTENT, I sit down with writer and independent game developer Davis G. See — the creative mind behind the narrative game Desert of Ash: a Post-Apocalyptic Gay S*x Simulator. Based in Edmonton, Davis writes fiction, essays, poetry, and interactive narrative games that explore the messy, complicated parts of being human. His newest project, Desert of Ash, is a post-apocalyptic visual novel that asks a surprisingly intimate question: what happens to connection, relationships, and sexuality when the world falls apart? Because sure — survival is about food, water, and shelter. But it’s also about companionship, desire, and the need to connect with other people. In this episode, we dive into the creative process behind the game, how queer storytelling fits into speculative fiction, and why vulnerability might actually be the most powerful tool an artist has. The conversation moves through everything from climate anxiety and creative burnout to ADHD, internet culture, and the complicated reality of putting deeply personal work out into the world — especially as a queer creator. They also talk about the strange reality of releasing something you spent years making… and then just quietly hitting the publish button and hoping someone out there hears your creative shout into the void. At its core, this episode is about something simple but powerful: Art that actually says something real. Because the work that resonates the most usually comes from the parts of ourselves we’re a little scared to show. 🔗 Play Desert of Ash + Connect with Davis 🔹 Itch.io | Play Desert of Ash 🔹 Steam | Play Desert of Ash 🔹 Instagram 🔹 Bluesky 🔹 YouTube 🎧 GRAFIK CONTENT 🔸 Website 🔸 YouTube 🔸 Instagram 🔸 TikTok Enjoyed the episode? Sharing Should Happen More Often with Tina Huynh

What makes a story meaningful? According to storyteller and creator Tina Huynh… pretty much anything. In this episode of GRAFIK CONTENT, I sit down with Tina Huynh — the creator behind Tales of the Town, a storytelling platform and live event series designed to bring people together through the power of honest, human stories. What starts as a conversation about storytelling quickly turns into something deeper: a discussion about creativity, vulnerability, and why sharing our experiences (even the messy or awkward ones) might be one of the most powerful ways we connect with each other. Tina shares how speaker training helped her unlock her own voice after years of feeling like she had to suppress it, and how telling personal stories out loud became a catalyst for healing and self-discovery. The conversation explores the idea that stories don’t have to be dramatic or life-altering to matter. Sometimes the most impactful stories are the small, everyday moments that reveal what’s actually going on inside us — the thoughts, feelings, and perspectives that make us human. We also touch on: • why storytelling helps people feel less alone• the difference between external events and internal experiences• building community through creative expression• the awkward, funny, and unpredictable reality of hosting podcasts• and why sometimes the best conversations happen when you throw the structure out the window If you’ve ever felt like your story “isn’t big enough,” this episode might just change your mind. Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do… is simply say the thing out loud. 🔗 CONNECT WITH TINA 🔹 Website 🔹 Instagram 🔹 Podcast 🎧 GRAFIK CONTENT 🔸 Website 🔸 YouTube 🔸 Instagram 🔸 TikTok Enjoyed the episode?
