Stellar
Two episodes in and this podcast is at the top of my queue. Both episodes explore the complexity of criminal acts and what follows. Both reveal the humanity inherent in all--even perpetrators of heinous crimes. Julie is a masterful interviewer- we either feel as though we're in the room with her or forget she's there as she sits back and lets her guests tell their stories. At the end of both episodes, my mind was more open, my heart softer. I'm happy that there are people thoughtfully guiding us through our own questions about the area in-between. PS Someone needs to find George B so he can edit his spot-on review. Spot-on but for the the fact that "Excellent" is 5 stars, not one. George! Where are you? Come back and fix this!!! :D
Important perspectives
Great podcast if you want to hear different perspectives about our prison system including some uplifting stories of personal transformation.
GRAY AREA
I enjoy this podcast so much. And I can’t wait to hear what happens to him once he gets out of prison. I imagine it would be surreal to all of a sudden be exposed to Smart phones, social media, UBER. All these weird modern conveniences that have slowly taken over our lives: picking up our groceries or having food delivered to the door. And of course the emotional impact of suddenly being able to see one’s family and having agency over ones choices. Even something small, such as what you get to wear or when you go to bed. The little things that we take for granted. Fresh vegetables, how often we shower. I could go on and on. And yet I would never understand what he’s been through. At least I have somebody to tell me the story to help me understand as much as I am able to.
I can’t wait for the next episode. I have listened to many podcasts and I can say, without a doubt, this one is done with extreme compassion, excellent production and top-notch journalism.
