Episode 02: S1E2E3 "The First Cut Is the Deepest" & "Winning a Battle, Losing the War"
Episode 2 of Grey's Area, the podcast that examines a pop culture phenomenon, is upon you! Join hosts Alex Cranz and Rebecca Jane Stokes as they explores episodes 2 and 3 of season 1 of Grey's Anatomy, "The First Cut Is the Deepest" and "Winning a Battle, Losing the War."
In the first half of this podcast we talk about how universal a character Meredith Grey is, dicks, and why George continues to be the worst.
In the second half of the episode we talk Grey's Anatomy's relationship to Dead Like Me, why Izzie is the worst and Tony Goldwyn.
It's a fun and raunchy old time--even if we had some technical difficulties while recording.
Also TRIGGER WARNING: as "The First Cut is the Deepest" deals with rape there is discussions of rape in the podcast. So stay safe! -
Episode 01: S1E1 "A Hard Day's Night"
Grey's Anatomy is, seriously, a pop culture phenomenon. Shonda Rhimes' show has dominated the pop culture landscape for more than ten years, made McDreamy, McSteamy, vajayjay and seriously part of our lexicon and turned Katherine Heigl, Patrick Dempsey and Sandra Oh into household names.
But does it hold up?
FemPop is going to find out. Rebecca Jane Stokes and Alex Cranz (that's me!) are breaking down the show, episode by episode, in this weekly podcast.
This first episode we check out the pilot, "A Hard Day's Night." There's a lot of discussion of Patrick Dempsey's hair and butt, Bailey's bob, Meredith's god complex and our blessed saint Cristina Yang. Join us, and be sure to subscribe!

Funny start
I listened to this as I was walking through Washington Heights and it made me laugh so I didn’t get told “Smile, honey!” by creepy men, so thanks for that!
Really, all I want in life is to have a podcast where I, too, can talk about Grey’s. You all are living the dream and if you ever want to tap a stranger to be your third wheel, I’m in. Particularly if you want someone to talk about Arizona, even if she doesn’t show up for four and a half seasons.
I look forward to listening to more. Good luck finishing this, since it really is the show that never ends. Again, if you need a random stranger to tap you out, I’m here, rewatching all the Arizona scenes on YouTube. You’d be doing me a favor.
