We’re a group of multicultural friends who grew up in immigrant families in Toronto, a city where almost half the population is foreign born. Each episode, we discuss a different topic through the lens of our respective cultures, from sex and relationships to ethnic foods to superstitions and more.
Through our conversations, we tell stories that all kids of immigrants can relate to. While we all come from different backgrounds, you might be surprised to discover just how similar we all are. Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/growingupimmigrant/support

Ep 4: Welcome to Canada | Our Reflections, Our Journeys, Our Identities
We reflect on our experiences with identity and belonging as immigrants to Canada, and discuss what being Canadian means to us. There are aspects we are proud of and aspects we are not proud of. And that's okay. In fact, it's that duality that allows us to be critical of the injustices of our country while also wanting it to be better for future generations, whether for Indigenous people, new immigrants and all Canadians. On this Canada Day, we wish you a day of reflection, learning and belonging.

Ep 3: Dad, Can You Give Me a Ride? | A Father’s Day Special
Our dads are obviously a huge part of our growing up immigrant experience. We discuss things like the extent of their frugality and how they all had the same desire for us to excel at math. But jokes aside, we also reflect on all that they've done for us and continue to do now. Dads, we love you and happy father’s day!
