    Joseph Tabua GSP#138

    Joseph Tabua GSP#138

Joseph Tabua’s sound world embodies large slabs of colours that juxtapose indie rock influences with aleotoric and minimalist finesse. Joseph’s Fijian and Australian heritage are intertwined profoundly thus creating an electrifying and distinct compositional voice.
We discuss Joseph's guitar approach from rock jams with an embryonic Silverchair to the 'spontaneous and visceral' improvisation of the  Tabua-Harrison duo (championed by Living Colour's Vernon Reid no less) and the wide-screen composition of the solo release 'Half Ocean Half Sky'.
The conversation also looks at Joseph's academic work - he is currently completing a doctorate at Western Sydney University, gear choices for sonic exploration and a fantastic list of boundary stretching guitar players and musicians to check out.
This is a great interview with an intelligent, humble and thoughtful musician.

    Jude Gold - in replay

    Jude Gold - in replay

Today we revisit our fantastic 2017 guitar hang with the one and only Jude Gold.
Jude is a multitasking guitar phenom and good friend of our show:
solo artist / high profile sideman - Greg Howe, Billy Sheehan, Jefferson Starship
    journalist - Guitar Player Magazine
podcaster - No Guitar is Safe
educator -  former Director of Guitar at the Musicians Institute, published by Hal Leonard
My problem wasn't thinking of things to ask Jude about...it was deciding what to focus on! Jude has built an amazing career and doesn't look like slowing down any time soon.
This interview features live guitar examples from Jude - from Van Halen to his own incredible 'full contact' style and much, much more.

Guitar Bird ,

RE: What??

I am very proud of my faith. Yet it irks me when a misguided Christian whines about being persecuted by “SJWs” or the media or whatever. Get over yourself, good sir or madam, and stop complaining about your faith being targeted. Reread the book of Matthew, then take your energy and do good works for others, welcome the stranger, and follow the teachings of Your Lord... THAT is exactly what us “SJWs” that you so vilify are doing. May God Bless Everyone, No Exceptions.
Now the podcast? I really like it, and their choices of guests!

done with heart ,

What??

No reviews? Ok, I’ll have to be the one then. I DIG it. Love the laid back vibe, love the openness of being a Christian, which seems to not only be withering away in an ever increasing, hate and evil filled world, but will eventually be illegal (in as far as admitting and acting upon it). Not illegal to be a white Christian man, yet, but the SJW’s are trying hard to make it so. This is not a religious podcast, but I love that you have the fortitude to speak on it with the great Michael Sweet, a wonderful, humble, sweet ;) man, and one heck of a musician who is doing, still, God’s work, after all these years. More people like both of you is what the world so desperately needs, now more than ever. God, family and guitars. The best things in life. Keep up the good work. Thanks for doing what you do. God bless
