this podcast will endear you to people you’ve never met and nostalgic for times and places you’ve never been. Brian has created something truly special. Despite the audio format, in the latter half of the show Brian has managed to create one of the most fully fleshed out portraits of an oft-written-off place: Staten Island, New York.

Brian is at once unique and relatable, innocent and corrupted, evolving and fully realized; the life he reflects on and relates to the listener may as well be theirs, generously foregoing ownership of his past, his conscious and subconscious, his pride and regret. There is poetry here in not only the language, but the exhibition of lifelong introspection–a deep self awareness that casually inspires and in moments, dramatically affects. Combine this deep ethos with smooth editing, consistent tonal and perspective shifts, and you have something really special. I will continue to listen for as long as he is willing to share and so should you.
