Happy Queer Adults

Caitlin and Lauren are happy queer adults, and in a world with not nearly enough stories about happy queer adults, they want to start sharing more of them. This podcast will explore the nuance, challenges and beautiful weirdness of navigating adult stages as LGBTQIA+ people, and share insights and tips from experts and queer folks who have been through them. Ultimately, these shared experiences bring our community closer together, and Lauren and Caitlin want to celebrate that and explore where our queer friends and experts found acceptance, love, support, and themselves in the queer community.

    Sarah & Adrianna: Becoming The Old Lesbians At The Bar

    Our guests today are Sarah and Adrianna from the Gay Women Channel. They are an incredible writer/director team who has been producing content together since high school. Together they produced the movies Almost Adults and Nobody Famous, as well as countless, hilarious sketches, Q&As, and pillow talks, beautiful shorts, a brand new music video for L.E.S.S. called “Straight girl” and much more for their YouTube Channel.     Shannon Beveridge: Lesbian YouTube's Hannah Montana

    You probably know Shannon Beveridge from her incredible work over the last decade as a creator and director on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, or even Tumblr as NowThisIsLiving. Shannon has made it her mission to create the content she wished existed as a queer kid, and has spent her career directing and producing videos that positively represent the LGBTQIA+ community. Shannon balances creating her own content with directing and producing. She’s directed narrative shorts, music videos for artists like Zolita, Joy Oladokun, Alyson Stoner, and Fletcher, and recently directed her first short film (!!). In our interview with Shannon we dug into how she got started and developed her career as a content creator, the lengths she went to to meet up with internet friends 10 years ago, how her and her ex were almost on a reality TV show, and a whole lot more.     Alease The Embryologist: LGBTQ+ Fertility & The Effects of Overturning Roe v. Wade on IVF

    We didn't think we'd be rushing to get out this episode recorded for an August launch a week after we recorded, but we also didn't anticipate the Supreme Court would be overturning 50 years of precedent with Roe v. Wade this past week either. We are angry, frustrated, and scared but want to get this information out there to people that need it.  In this interview with Alease Daniel, an embryologist and TikTok creator also known as @AleaseTheEmbryologist, we dig into all things LGBTQ+ fertility and family planning, from buying sperm safely to trans fertility preservation. We also discuss, in depth, the impacts overturning Roe v. Wade will now have on IVF in states where abortion is banned at conception.  This is an episode you don't want to miss! David is a happy queer adult and an award-winning creative director, graphic designer, photographer, and superhero aficionado. He is also married to the immensely funny and talented Pissi Myles. He currently works as part of the Taco Bell Design team and has worked in the creative industry for 15+ years. He’s worked with Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Kid Cudi, Todrick Hall, Lupe Fiasco, as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race winners and NFL stars. His work has been featured in Graphic Design USA Magazine, Communication Arts, Huffington Post, OUT Magazine, Creative Quarterly, Playboy Magazine, and more.
