I will be honest, I grew up just wanting to do the right thing as a Muslim, a daughter, a worker, and when I was a student. This year was a year of hardship, I saw my world fall apart and had who i was challenged. Every podcast was about self-improvement, but I just wanted a podcast to tell me how to get through the hard times. So, this podcast is here to talk about just that. Let's talk about surviving the hardships of your life and maybe growing a little along the way. As this is new, I will be playing around with the structure.

    S.1 (8) The Balance of Ambition

    So you’re either way too complacent and lazy or way too hyper-ambitious and stuck up. Or you’re like me, trying not to feel crappy about choosing one. I thought I was ambitious until I landed in ambitious spaces and realized I wasn’t enough. Then I came back home thinking comfort would be enough, and that didn’t work either. In this episode, I unpack what happens when ambition becomes a defense mechanism: perfectionism, overachievement, status-chasing, and when familiarity and comfort becomes laziness and complacency. What is it like to be told you could be “big” but feel too tired to care or not want to live in your parents' home forever? Stuck between feeling too loud in relaxed spaces, too small in hyper-driven ones, but what happens when you stop choosing entirely? Returning to my roots and experiencing real hardship made me reexamine both ambition and avoidance and figure out what kind of life I actually want.
