  4. Christopher Di Cesare "The Ghost Boy of Erie Hall" | Beyond Haunted Vermont

Christopher Di Cesare "The Ghost Boy of Erie Hall" | Beyond Haunted Vermont

The Plot; The Erie Hall Haunting ranks among the most documented paranormal events in United States history, defined by full-bodied apparitions, disembodied voices, moving objects, physical attacks, photographs and audio tapes. More than a dozen witnesses have professed their experience with this Western New York extreme haunting that found a teenage Di Cesare at its epicenter, and to whom urban legend ascribed the nickname “The Ghost Boy of Erie Hall.” About Christopher: As a young college student, Chris Di Cesare's view of life was forever changed by a series of horrifying events in and around his dorm room: C2D1 at SUNY Geneseo. From early February through late April of 1985, he and his college friends endured what is now referred to as 'The C2D1 Haunting'. Apparitions sighted, disembodied voices heard, moving objects witnessed and frightening physical attacks all became part of the ordeal suffered by Chris - who quickly became the focal point of the haunting - and several of his college classmates. Long suppressed by the participants themselves, the extreme haunting eventually moved into the realm of ‘urban legend’. After almost a quarter century of avoiding the spotlight, in 2009 Di Cesare - convinced by the level of respect and authenticity provided by the "Please, talk with me..." film project - finally agreed to share his experience. The film recreates the 1985 events surrounding the photograph that has become known across the internet as the 'C2D1 ghost'. Following a 2011 college speaking tour, Chris was featured on the SyFy channel's show "School Spirits". The episode titled 'Dorm Room Nightmare' first aired on June 27th, 2012 and gained national attention. An accomplished lecturer who appeared on Coast to Coast AM in 2015, Di Cesare released his memoir, The Ghost Boy of Erie Hall, (CITA Ventures) in September of 2025, in conjunction with the Netflix documentary mini-series: True Haunting, which offered a compelling first-hand accounting of the infamous extreme haunting from the person who found himself at its center … and survived it.
