    Lord of the Rings- We end at the beginning

    It's our fantasy season finale extravaganza! So much movie, perhaps too much or not enough based on where you stand. We're talking about the trilogy as a whole. And as per usual we are criss-crossing back and forth through it like Sam and Frodo.     Pan's Labyrinth- Millennials Know

    The pale man traumatized a generation of moviegoers. Were you one of them? This movie is brimming with incredible creature and monster designs paired with perfectly real characters that are in the most lovely lived-in clothes. Plus the most messages about Catholicism and whether the fairytale ending is real or not.     Willow- Medieval Villains Always Wear Black

    Wow, another real 1980's fantasy movie! This made us ask the question- how many fantasy movies from the 20th century are --heavily-- influenced by Lord of the Rings?? This movie also sparked a discussion about how common it is for costume design education programs to only teach you how to design for certain bodies.     We have been changed For Good by witnessing the gorgeous costumes in Wicked For Good!! We recorded this on opening weekend and bring you our fresh reactions to the movie. It’s been amazing to see all of the posts and pictures from production folks showing their work in making these costumes. It’s only cemented our appreciation for the artistry on display.     Dance, magic dance! Jump, magic jump! That's right, it's time for Labyrinth. Do you have what it takes to solve it?     Alice in Wonderland (1999)- She's Not Wearing Blue

    No fantasy season would be complete without Alice! And there are so many versions of Alice to choose from! We decided to go with this fascinating TV Movie from 1999 that has many, many familiar faces. Including the face of Whoopi Goldberg pasted onto the Cheshire Cat.     The Green Knight- He's Kind of a Tree

    Wow this film is gorgeous from beginning to end. A testament to the idea of pared down graphic design done by true artists. Please check the movie out if you are intrigued.     The Silver Chair- Time is Different in Narnia

    Alright, who remembers the British Narnia miniseries from the late 80's/early 90's?! Because we sure do. And they are so delightfully weird! Today we're delving into the Silver Chair which was quite memorable for both Melinda's and Ariel's childhood.
