Have a Bible Question Live is a thoughtful and well-produced podcast that seeks to focus on questions from the public that arise from reading the bible. The hosts appear to be very knowledgeable in their answers, and there does not appear to be any question that is off limits. Where they start to lose credibility, is constant focus back to Church of Christ denominational theology. It is no longer “what the bible says about…” it’s “what the Church of Christ says the bible says about…” though not in those explicit terms. They then disparage any view on disputable matters as ‘false doctrines’. Baptism (by immersion) is absolutely required for salvation. Mechanical instruments during worship are never to be allowed. Premillennialism, Calvinism and any competing denominations (the hosts insist CoC is somehow not a Protestant denomination) are openly referred to as “false doctrines.” Overall I would still consider this a good podcast to listen and glean insight from others’ perspectives. Though, due to episode length and southern drawl, the 2x speed feature may be required.
