Welcome to another episode of Hawk Talk!  In this episode, Holly and Jonathan interview multi-Blues athlete, Joy Lisney.  Joy has represented the Light Blues in over 15 Varsity Matches across lacrosse, cycling, triathlon, athletics and cricket.  What's even more impressive is that she's juggled and switched between sports whilst also maintaining an international music career and studying for her degree.  As she comes to the end of her PhD in music composition, Joy shares with us how she managed to transfer between sports, and between music and sport.  Crucial transferable skills have really been the key to her success.  Have a listen to the episode to find out more!

Welcome to an extra-special episode of Hawk Talk with Holly and Jonathan. This is the 'podcast version' of a talk we gave to prospective students in January 2021. We thought it would be useful to have an episode giving a run-down on all things Sport at Cambridge. We talk about the benefits of sport (and the evidence behind it), University-level sport at Cambridge, College-level sport at Cambridge, and cover some FAQs too.

Want to read more? Here are the links to the evidence for the benefits of sport:

A review of the Social Impacts of Culture and Sport (Taylor et al. 2015)

The British Active Students Survey (BUCS, ongoing)
