    Episode 33: The Juxtaposition of Black Joy and Trauma with Dr. Celeste Malone and Dr. Sherrie Proctor

    Welcome to the Healing-Centered Conversations podcast! In this episode, we have a powerful discussion between Dr. Celeste Malone and Dr. Sherrie Proctor on the Juxtaposition of Black Joy and Black Trauma.  Healing is a form of resistance and in this special episode, Dr. Proctor sits down with Dr. Malone to begin the healing process. Dr. Malone describes in her own words, what happened in Denver for NASP 2023 and what she was feeling at that moment, and then reflects on the importance of mobilizing the community and the lessons learned from their response. Dr. Malone discusses the highs and lows of her presidency as just the second Black person to ever serve in the role of President of NASP. She shares her experiences and challenges in leading a national organization and the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in her work. Importantly, listeners will hear firsthand, from two legends in the field of Schoo Psychology about their perspective on the importance of hope and healing in the face of trauma and systemic oppression.     Episode 26: All the Things with Dr. Tai Collins aka Dope Guy Tai

    In this episode, we have a special guest, Dope Guy Tai aka Dr. Tai Collins.  Dr. Tai A. Collins is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the School Psychology Program at the University of Cincinnati.  About Dr. Tai Collins Tai A. Collins received his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in 2013. Dr. Collins is primarily interested in the development of time- and resource-efficient behavioral interventions to support Black students in urban schools with limited resources.  Dr. Collins has focused on developing peer-mediated interventions to improve the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional functioning of students within multi-tiered systems of support.  Dr. Collins is also interested in applications of a social justice framework in school psychology research, practice, and training.
