  1. Are Humans Hyper-Carnivores with Dr. Miki Ben-Dor

Are Humans Hyper-Carnivores with Dr. Miki Ben-Dor

Today we speak with Dr. Miki Ben-Dor, a paleoanthropologist who researches and publishes on the association between diet and human evolution. His research has been an integral part of reshaping the narrative around nutrition from an evolutionary perspective. He has put together various papers with a range and depth of evidence in support of the idea that humans likely evolved as hyper-carnivores. This is of course extremely important in the discussion about nutrition given the mainstream is trying to persuade people to reduce their meat intake. If we evolved to eat these foods and we then remove them from our diet, what effect does this have? Since the dawn of the USDA food guidelines it’s pretty apparent that the shift away from animal fats and towards carbohydrates and industrial seed oils has been a complete nightmare and failure of dietary policy bringing rise to the worst obesity and chronic disease epidemic we’ve ever seen in Westernised developed countries. We cover a few key topics that Miki has researched, but for a more comprehensive and detailed review of all the research in support of Miki’s position, we highly recommend you read his papers or watch some of his other talks on available on YouTube.
